Beginning next month, the Forrester clan will grow by one member. Well, it's not actually gaining a member; a familiar Forrester face is returning to town.
Tracy Melchior brings Kristen Forrester back to Los Angeles on June 4th.
The role of Kristen was originated in 1987 by Teri Ann Linn. Linn held down the role through 1990 and reprised the part briefly in both 1992 and 1994. Insiders have reported that Linn was not asked to reprise the role this time around. Soap Opera Digest cites a source that claims that Linn was "too old" for the part because the writers wanted to shave a few years off of the character's age.
At first listen, Melchior's name sounds like that of a soap newcomer. That is not the case. The actress' previous soap stints have all come under another name, the name Tracy Lindsey.
Melchior's most recent soap appearance came last year as Renée on Passions. In 1997, Melchior appeared on Sunset Beach as well as on The Young and the Restless as Veronica Landers. Prior to that, she appeared as Mike Horton's date in a 1994 episode of Days of our Lives.
