A source tells Soap Central that Lisa Rinna will be joining the cast of Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in the show's upcoming fifth season. Rinna filmed scenes for the show as a guest at Kyle Richards' annual White Party in June and the producers of the show were impressed enough to offer Rinna a full-time role, which she's accepted.
Rinna is well known for her roles on Melrose Place and Days of our Lives. She originated the role of Billie Reed on DAYS in 1992. Billie worked to put her past of drugs and prostitution behind her and eventually found romance with Bo Brady. Rinna last appeared on DAYS from 2012 to 2013 when Billie, an ISA agent, returned to Salem to investigate Stefano DiMera.
Reality TV isn't anything new for the actress, who has appeared on reality shows The Apprentice and Sing Your Face Off in past years. However, her time on Housewives might be more dramatic than her other reality TV gigs if initial reports are any indication.
According to Radar Online, future co-stars Brandi Glanville and Yolanda Foster aren't happy about Rinna's addition to the cast. A source told Radar that Glanville was jealous of Rinna's "perfect life."
However, Glanville refuted those reports on Twitter, saying, "Dear @radar_online ive met @lisarinna several times&she was lovely &I would never be anything but happy for people with great families!#fact."
Whether the rumors are true or not, Rinna's addition to the cast is bound to shake up the dynamic of the cast and should provide some interesting moments.
Neither Bravo nor Rinna have responded to requests for comment.
