Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) may have wrapped up her 21-year stint on Days of our Lives earlier this year, but the actress is already making plans to return to the NBC soap.
But fans will not be seeing her on-screen. Sweeney is rejoining DAYS as a director.
"Aww! It's like going home. So happy 2 b back in Salem -- directing," Sweeney said on Twitter along with a photo of herself, Lauren Koslow, and Deidre Hall.
This will not be Sweeney's first time behind the camera. She's previously directed and episode of Days of our Lives and recently took a turn behind the camera at ABC's General Hospital, where there are reportedly plans in place to have her do it again in the future.
According to Soap Opera Digest, a date has not yet been announced for Sweeney's DAYS directorial return.
A fixture on NBC's Days of our Lives since her first appearance in January 1993, Sweeney revealed in January 2014 that she had made the decision to leave the show. The reason, according to Sweeney, is that she wanted to spend more time with her family.
