It looks like Days of our Lives' newly installed head writer, Ron Carlivati, is going to get to write for yet another powerful female. Lisa Rinna (Billie Reed) will be returning to Days of our Lives in early 2018. According to a published report, the DAYS veteran and current reality star is already back on the DAYS set and taping scenes.
It's been more than four years since Rinna last stepped into the role of Billie. When the character was written out, Billie left Salem to take a job in Europe. It's unclear exactly what will be brining Billie back to town.
Lisa Rinna joined the long-running NBC drama series in 1992 but left three years later. She returned for about a year in mid-2002 before again leaving the show. Her most recent return spanned from March 2012 to January 2013.
Rinna made a name for herself to non-soap fans in 2014 when she joined the cast of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The actress also has her own line of clothing that she sells on QVC.
In related news, Rinna will also guest star in the third episode of ABC's The Middle. The ABC comedy's upcoming ninth season will also be its final season.
Due to DAYS' production schedule, fans should not expect to see Rinna back on-screen until February 2018.
A show spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment. News of Rinna's return was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
