Had she continued on as Days of our Lives' Sami Brady, we're not sure if Alison Sweeney would have ended up with 25 husbands or less, but that's not the game the popular actress is currently playing. Instead, Sweeney is taking her chances on the new Fox game show 25 Words or Less.
The actress took to social media to share that she appeared on Wednesday's episode of the series, which is hosted by The View and Who Wants to be a Millionaire's Meredith Vieira and is based on the board game of the same name. And Sweeney hints that there are more episodes to come.
"[25 Words or Less is] my new favorite game," the actress teased along with a preview clip of the episode. "Be warned if you don't already know me that well -- I am fully prepared to embarrass myself to win."
Sweeney also shared the news of her participation on the Fox game show via Facebook, writing, "So fun filming 25 Words or Less with Meredith Vieira!!! Thanks for the great #friyay! Can't wait for these to air!"
Other celebrity guests attached to this season of 25 Words or Less include Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Chelsea Handler, Chris Noth, Oscar Nunez, Melissa Peterman, Rick Fox, Lea Thompson, Mary McCormack, Willie Garson, Natalie Morales, Loni Love, Penn Jillette, Jamie Kennedy, Tisha Campbell, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Margaret Cho, Jane Lynch, Pete Holmes, Val Chmerkovsky, and WWE wrestlers Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Apollo Crews, and Ali.
Lisa Kudrow's appearance is not a coincidence; she helped develop the game show along with producing partners Dan Bucatinsky, Mary McCormack, and Michael Morris.
According to Stephen Brown, EVP Programming and Development for Fox Television Stations, 25 Words or Less is "a great break from the depressing news of the day. It's fast, smart, funny, and led by the best host in television, Meredith Vieira. She is the master at corralling big celebrity personalities and driving a game that's fun to watch and play."
Fox Television Stations provides the foundation of 25 Words' distribution, but the show is also airing on stations owned by Sinclair, Gray, Hearst, CBS, Scripps, and Tribune.
Alison Sweeney joined the cast of DAYS back in 1993 but decided to take a step back from her long history as Sami Brady to focus on other projects. She pops back into Salem from time to time, but she can more often be seen in projects like her Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series The Chronicle Mysteries films.
