Jen Lilley may be super busy as one of the current queens of Hallmark, but that doesn't mean that the popular actress doesn't want to return to Days of our Lives. In fact, she admits that she often finds herself dreaming about reprising the role of devious Salemite Theresa Donovan.
"I think about it all the time. Being on a soap is like being with family, and the atmosphere is so welcoming," Lilley tells Soap Opera Digest about her desire to return to the NBC soap opera. "I really miss the cast and acting opposite Eric Martsolf [Brady Black]. I trust him as an [actor]."
Considering she's constantly busy filming heartwarming movies for Hallmark, however, it would probably be impossible for Lilley to return to Salem full-time. But there is always the possibility that the NBC soap will ask her back for a short stint, which she says she would welcome with open arms.
"It was so easy for me when I returned for 12 weeks [in 2018] to have a performance that I was proud of," she enthuses, "because I had amazing co-stars."
As for what kind of storyline could bring Theresa back to the canvas, one is playing out right this moment. Victor (John Aniston) recently contacted Theresa to see if her and Brady's son Tate is a bone marrow match for Mackenzie -- who is currently being raised by Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) but is actually Brady and Kristen's (Stacy Haiduk) daughter, Rachel. As fans may recall, Kristen once stole an embryo out of Theresa's body and implanted it in her own, so when the Mackenzie baby swap news is finally revealed, Theresa may have a thing or two to say about Brady sharing a baby with an embryo snatcher!
There hasn't been any official news as to whether or not Jen Lilley will be returning to DAYS, so fans will have to stay tuned to find out if the Mickey/Rachel drama brings Theresa back to the canvas -- or if something else down the line might bring her back to Salem.
Lilley first joined DAYS in 2013 and played Shane and Kimberly's daughter until 2016. Outside of a short return to Salem in 2018, she has kept herself busy with several Hallmark Channel films, including Mingle All the Way, Winter Love Story, Love Unleashed, and Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday.
