Rapper Precious Way cut her time as Days of our Lives' Chanel Dupree short, and maybe that was a good thing for the budding star, because she's hitting the big time!
Way took to Instagram to share that she has landed a role on the upcoming ABC drama Queens, which tells the story of a 90s hip-hop girl group that decides to reunite.
"So grateful for this new journey," wrote Way of her new project, which debuts on ABC on Tuesday, October 19.
Way didn't share any further information about her role, but she'll be joining some pretty big stars in Queens: Brandy plays Naomi "Xplicit Lyrics," Eve plays Brianna "Professor Sex," Naturi Naughton plays Jill "Da Thrill," and Nadine Velazquez plays Valeria "Butter Pecan" -- the four members of a 1990s group called the Nasty Bitches.
Together, the four Nasty Bitches turned the world of hip-hop upside down and achieved legendary status through their music in the 90s. Now, the four women are in their forties, unworldly, and largely estranged. A reunion might give them the chance to return to old fame and vigor -- but will the former megastars manage to achieve this ambitious goal?
Precious Way joined the cast of DAYS in February of this year and shared news of her departure in June. The NBC soap recast the role of Chanel with actress Raven Bowens.
In addition to her time in Salem, Way spent 2021 filming the series Partners in Rhyme, which also stars rapper MC Lyte. It's unclear at this time if her role in the series is what led to her unexpected departure from DAYS.
