There is nothing like a traditional Horton family Christmas: the tree, the ornaments, and, this year, a surprise visit from Eli and the twins.
Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) reprises the role he created in 2017. The actor left Salem earlier this year when his wife Lani (played by Sal Stowers) was sent to prison for killing her biological father, T.R. "Ray" Coates.
When describing his DAYS' homecoming and reuniting with Horton family members Doug and Julie, played by Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, Archey told Soap Opera Digest, "It was great. I hadn't seen them since I left. I think I maybe emailed them once or twice during the time I was gone. It was really good seeing them and the other faces I hadn't seen in a while. It was really good reconnecting with my co-workers."
It goes without saying that everyone will be curious to know about Lani. "I believe Eli says she's doing the best she can under the circumstances," Archey added "She's pulling through, but definitely misses being with her family, especially during the holidays."
Now that he has made a holiday return to DAYS, would Archey be open to making future appearances? "I talked to Albert [Alarr, DAYS co-executive producer] before I left. He had asked if I wanted to come back and do some more episodes. I said we can definitely talk and figure it out. Recently they did reach out to me and asked if I'd stop by again and help out with some stories they have going on. So, of course, I'm down to pop in and lend a helping hand."
Archey has been keeping busy since leaving the town of Salem. He is shooting an episode of the CW series All American in the next couple of weeks. Archey also shot a movie coming out in January, called Love Me to Death, starring Brian White, Pamela Jones, and Tisha Campbell.
In addition to playing the role of Eli Grant on Days of our Lives, Archey first appeared on the soap in 2012 in two under-five roles. Archey also played Mason Wilder on The Young and the Restless from 2012 to 2014. His other credits include the Destiny's Child music video for "Cater 2 U," the primetime sitcom 2 Broke Girls, and TV movies Can't Buy My Love and Engaged.
