soapcentral.com panelists predict the Emmy winners

Lisa Christine Svenson is currently working as a mother and professional volunteer, but is in the process of seeking what many deem as "real" work. She does not watch soaps, so her ballot is highly random. The thought behind her entrance into the Emmy picker race is to provide a little humor and to see if the "experts" really know what they are talking about. She occasionally (VERY occasionally) proofreads for Soap Opera Central.
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES
The obvious choice, based on the pictures on the SOC site is General Hospital. Any place a man [Ingo Rademacher] shows up in a "wife-beater" shirt and expects to look studly, he deserves to win an award for his show.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR
David Canary has that "trust me" used-car salesman smile in overdrive. Surely there must be some reward for managing that degree of insincerity and smugness in facial expression. This must be it.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS
Martha Byrne for two reasons: 1. She's brunette, and it's okay to not be blonde, and 2. She titled an album Woman Thing-Music, and that takes guts.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR
Benjamin Hendrickson because he was in "Regarding Henry."
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Rebecca Budig...let's face it, being known by the name "Greenlee" deserves some form of reward.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR
Paul Taylor because he has a normal name, his character isn't a Junior and doesn't have a funky name, he almost seems (and this is a frightening confession)...HUMAN.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS
Kristina Sisco, who hasn't forsaken education entirely. Fitting in home schooling is a good thing. Also, she seems to have overcome the instability of moving too often as a child.
OUTSTANDING WRITING IN A DRAMA SERIES
WHAT? You mean I wasn't nominated? I'm going to have to look into this. I'm going to have to go with "Passions" because it must be HARD to write passionately day in and day out, never a day without passion. Surely there must be days when someone has PMS or a hangover and has to fake the passion, but they can't let anyone know. What a hard life it must be for them.
