Lane Davies, a veteran of both daytime and primetime television, will be joining the cast of General Hospital later this year in the contract role of Cameron Lewis.
For Davies, best known for his work on the Emmy Award winning Santa Barbara, this will mark the first time he has appeared on an ABC soap opera. The actor has appeared previously on NBC's Days of our Lives and CBS's The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
During his 1984 to 1989 run as Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara, Davies had an on-screen romance with Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis; ex Julia Capwell, Santa Barbara). Fans of the former pair are already clamoring about the possibility of an on-screen reunion in Port Charles.
Outside of daytime television, Davies has appeared on The Mommies, Lois and Clark, and the Crew. He currently plays a recurring role on the NBC comedy Scrubs. On the silver screen, Davies has appeared in such films as Dead Aim, Funland, and Body Double.
While ABC confirmed that Davies is joining the General Hospital roster, the network declined to offer a first airdate.
