Soap opera alum Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki Jerome, General Hospital; ex-Starr Manning, One Life to Live) recently took to social media to announce that she was leaving Los Angeles and starting a new chapter of her life. In the message, she gave a shout-out to her real-life boyfriend, Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos, GH), thanking him for always being her best friend and promising to love him always. The message got fans wondering if the couple had split up, and now Alderson is confirming it is true.

"We appreciate all of the support we got as a couple from you guys," she wrote on Twitter. "Sorry we've remained quiet about it all, just needed time... Thank you all for the love. Chad and I are in a good place though. It wasn't an easy decision for us, but we've remained optimistic and friends."

The daytime stars began dating in 2012, the same year Alderson joined GH as her former OLTL character, Starr.
