Don't expect General Hospital's Shawn Butler to bust out of the state pen any time soon, because his portrayer, Sean Blakemore, is busy filming BET's new college drama pilot, The Yard.
Deadline reports that the actor, who's in the race to potentially win an Outstanding Supporting Actor Daytime Emmy award this year, has joined stars Anika Noni Rose, Peyton Alex Smith, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Jasmine Guy in the two-hour scripted pilot that follows Eva (Rose), a newly elected president of the fictional college Georgia A&M.
The Yard is being executive produced by Felicia Henderson and Rob Hardy, who will also be directing the new drama.
Blakemore will also be making appearances in the upcoming season of Lifetime's Devious Maids. Learn more about that project here
