General Hospital fans will have something quite special to be grateful for as Thanksgiving approaches: Dominic Zamprogna is returning as Dante Falconeri.
The actor first teased about his appearance on October 29, tweeting to Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos): "Big day tomorrow." Shortly after, William deVry (Julian Jerome) replied: "Um, you forgetting someone?" Zamprogna then joked: "Yes. Will, thanks for reminding me. Lisa LoCicero [Olivia Falconeri], see you in the AM, ma!"
This alone had fans salivating about a possible return by the actor, and he confirmed the exciting news the following day by posting a photo of himself outside of the GH studio, along with the caption: "Dante for a day? Happy to be back with the GH fam."

A rep for the ABC soap opera confirms that Zamprogna is indeed back to work as Dante. At this time, however, he's only slated for one episode scheduled to air in mid-November.

Following Zamprogna's studio tweet, LoCicero shared a photo of herself with her on-screen son, DeVry, and Benard at a restaurant. "Good (not so) old days," she captioned the reunion pic.

Zamprogna joined the cast of GH in 2009 and played the role of Dante until the spring of 2018, when he decided not to continue with the ABC soap opera. Viewers hoped he would one day be back, which the writers made possible by sending Dante on an important mission out of town rather than killing the character when Zamprogna decided to leave the show. So, what could be bringing Dante back to the fold? And will the writers end up penning more than one episode for the beloved character? Be sure to tune in to GH this November to find out!
What do you think about Zamprogna returning to GH for one episode? What do you think brings Dante back to the canvas? Do you hope there are actually more episodes planned for Zamprogna, or would you be happy with a one-day appearance?
