General Hospital's Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) and his girlfriend Luana Lucci shared exciting news on Instagram when they announced the birth of their son, Dawson. "Welcome to the world lil Dawson. Been quite the journey," Chad posted. "Can't wait to see the great man you become," he added.
Lucci also shared photos of her newborn son. "August 30th, a date that changed our lives forever. Our little one has arrived, filling our hearts with boundless love and joy," Lucci posted.
This is the first child for both Duell and Lucci.
Fans and co-stars were quick to congratulate the new parents on their precious bundle of joy. The couple first announced their pregnancy on Instagram in early March. "We're adding a new member to the Duell family," Lucci wrote. "WE ARE HAVING A BABY BOY" Lucci shared.
Lucci, a United Airlines flight attendant and entrepreneur from Brazil, didn't have an easy road to motherhood. She shared updates of her pregnancy on Instagram, including that her pregnancy was considered high risk. "Every time we have to do an ultrasound we get so excited and anxious at the same time," she wrote after her 19-week ultrasound.
Initially, Lucci had been reluctant to share the news of her pregnancy on social media because she had suffered "anxiety and ptsd" as a result of the hate and backlash that she received when people had learned that she was dating Duell. "I haven't looked at my dms in so long in fear I will see something disgusting and mean," she had written. "It's hard to wrap my mind around how ADULTS can bully someone they know nothing about," Lucci had added.
Duell and Lucci made their relationship public in October 2022 when she attended Duell's brother's wedding with Duell.
Congratulations to both parents, and welcome to the world, Dawson.
And in case you are wondering -- there does not appear to be any relation whatsoever between Luana Lucci and daytime icon Susan Lucci (Erica Kane, All My Children).
