Despite being trashed by a former star of the original series, the CW's reboot of Aaron Spelling's classic 1980s soap opera Dynasty is off to a good start. The modern version of the classic series has been given a full-season pickup.
The primetime soap, created by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, has quickly become a fan favorite on the network and, as such, will continue to air throughout the 2017 and 2018 season, Deadline reports.
But that's not all of the exciting news that comes from the series that follows the wealthy families the Carringtons and the Colbys as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. Veteran soap star Rick Hearst (ex-Ric Lansing, General Hospital; ex-Whip Jones, The Bold and the Beautiful) has signed on to the CW show.

Unfortunately, that's all the information that has been shared at the moment, so fans will have to wait and see which character Hearst will be playing when he makes his first appearance later in the season.
The CW's Dynasty premiered on October 11 and stars Grant Show, Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa Niles), Elizabeth Gillies, James Mackay, Alan Dale, Nathalie Kelley, Sam Adegoke, Robert Christopher Riley, and Rafael de la Fuente.
