Good news for fans of The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and other CBS shows: the CBS blackout on DirecTV is finally over.
A new report from Variety confirms that CBS and AT&T have reached a new deal and will resume airing the CBS network. The report states: "CBS and AT&T came to new terms on carriage of CBS stations on the telecommunications giant's DirecTV satellite service, ending a prolonged blackout of CBS programming."
As Soap Central previously reported, CBS became unavailable on the AT&T services in late July after the two parties failed to come to new terms on retransmisson of various CBS stations. As estimated 6.6 million people were unable to watch CBS shows via traditional services during the blackout.
"CBS and AT&T regret any inconvenience to their customers and viewers and thank them for their patience," the companies said in a joint statement.
