Mishael Morgan (Hilary Curtis) has broken her silence about her exit from The Young and the Restless. For the past five days, fans have been anxiously waiting for Morgan to make some sort of comment. While the Emmy-nominated actress didn't go into detail about the purported reasons for her exit, the actress said simply that leaving the show after five years "just felt right."
Morgan also took time to thank her costar and "partner in crime," Bryon James (Devon Hamilton), as well as her devoted fans.
"[Your] love and kindness over the years have warmed my heart and fueled my soul more than you could ever know," Morgan said.
Yes, it's true. I am finally able to say, I'm leaving #YR. Thank you for giving me time to find the words. All my love ?????? pic.twitter.com/n8HojKPk70

Soap Central first reported on Morgan's exit from Y&R earlier this month. Morgan and show executives were reportedly unable to come to terms on a contract, and Morgan opted to walk away.
Here is Morgan's complete statement about her exit.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from The Young and the Restless. There were many factors that [led] to this decision, but ultimately, five years just felt right to me. I feel blessed to have worked with some of the most talented, hardworking and fun-loving people in television. Thank you to the cast, the crew and everyone at Sony and CBS who made the past five years truly unforgettable. A special thanks to my partner in crime Bryton James, who always brought out the best in both me and Hil. Last but definitely not least, I want to thank all of my amazing fans who have supported me on this journey. Your gifts, love and kindness over the years (and days) have warmed my heart and fueled my soul more than you could ever know. Although my adventure as Hilary Curtis is coming to an end, my work on screen is far from over. This may be a [goodbye] from Hilary, but I'll just say "see you soon."
Morgan joined the CBS soap in June 2013 and, earlier this year, received her first Daytime Emmy nomination. A final airdate has yet to be announced, and there has also been no indication of whether or not Y&R will recast Hilary. Per policy, The Young and the Restless does not comment on contracts.
