Thom Bierdz became one of the biggest stars of daytime when he took on the role of The Young and the Restless' Phillip Chancellor III in 1986. He was a bona fide sex symbol, landed cover after cover of soap opera magazines, and was front and center in storylines with Genoa City faves like Katherine Chancellor, Jill Foster, Christine Blair, Nina Webster, and Danny Romalotti. The fame had a big impact on his life and -- considering the content of his latest memoir -- an even bigger impact on his sex life.
Titled Young, Gay & Restless: My Scandalous On-Screen and Off-Screen Sexual Liberations, the sexually explicit (yet humorous) book unveils every one of the Wisconsin native's carnal adventures. And it seems no detail, big or small, has been left unexplored -- and that includes visually, as Bierdz posed nude for the book.
"A young closeted cowboy from the sexually-shaming Midwest becomes a soap opera star and 30 years later exposes his amusing and complicated carnal journey including sexual assaults, trysts with stars, a proposition from a bishop, romance with a famed billionaire, noncommittal relationships, social anxiety, taboo fantasies, penile enlargement, psycho fan roommate, online hook-ups, gym sex, mid-life crisis, leaving Hollywood and society, impotence and rekindled romance," states the official book description on Amazon.
As fans of Bierdz may already know, the actor released a previous memoir titled Forgiving Troy that gave a brutally honest look at one of the most horrendous moments of Bierdz's life: when his schizophrenic brother killed their mother with a baseball bat. The shocking and uncensored book created a lot of buzz, but Young, Gay & Restless promises to top "the unabashed sensationalism of his 6X award-winning Forgiving Troy. The latter pertained to transcending the tragedy of his schizophrenic brother murdering their mom, but this new tell-all unveils his every scandalous (often amusing) sex adventure."
Bierdz, who last appeared on Y&R in 2011, released a teaser video about his new book and says it's full of super embarrassing and amusing content. Young, Gay & Restless is available now for pre-order, with an official release date of Thursday, November 1. Paperback copies of the 400-page tome include sexually explicit photos in black and white, while digital copies include the graphic pics in full color.
