Family Matters fans who loved seeing The Young and the Restless' Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) reunite with his former TV mom, Telma Hopkins, when she appeared as investigator Denise Tolliver are in for a treat: Hopkins is heading back to Genoa City later this month.
Official show teasers reveal that the sitcom star will be returning to the canvas on Friday, August 20, when Devon asks the PI to help him with a favor. Further storyline details are being kept under wraps at this time, but it's possible that rather than being involved in the Amanda (Mishael Morgan) storyline like she was last time, Denise might be called in to help Devon find Abby's (Melissa Ordway) missing surrogate, Mariah (Camryn Grimes).
Since appearing on Y&R in June, Hopkins has been busy with her new role in the NBC pilot Dangerous Moms. The dark dramedy -- which also stars Shanola Hampton, Dascha Polanco, Linda Park, and Vanessa Marano -- follows four diverse mothers who accidentally kill the queen bee of their school's PTA during the demonstration of a new, high-end food processor.
According to a Deadline, Hopkins will play the series regular role of Fatima, a highly spiritual building manager who cares for her grandson while also working as a full-time embalmer at a popular funeral home.
