The Young and the Restless star Camryn Grimes reported sad news recently when she posted a tribute to her beloved pooch Riley, who sadly passed away.
In her Instagram post, Grimes told the story of when she first took Riley home and what first inspired her to take a "Puggle" into her home and heart.
"One day in 2009, while living in New York City I went to the movies to see I Love You, Man. In the movie Jason Segel's character has a dog which he would explain was a mix of a pug and a beagle... a Puggle," Grimes wrote next to a series of photos of Riley. "I was instantly in love and less than a year later I held a little girl in my arms and our lives together started. I named her Riley.
"Yesterday I held my little girl in my arms for the last time and told her the story of us. I thanked her for every chapter she spent by my side, every day she was the reason I got out of bed and all the days she was compassionate when I didn't. Homes and relationships, happiness and heartbreak, I was okay because she was my constant.
"My Riley girl, you are and always will be the first to make me a mom, thank you for walking me to the newest chapter of my life, I'm devastated that ours has come to an end. A piece of my heart is gone with you. I love you forever."
Co-star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), who lost her own pup Sophia last week, quickly offered her condolences, saying, "I'm so sorry Cammy. She and Soph are entering heaven together this week and playing for sure."
Other fellow Y&R stars to voice their support were Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore), Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra), and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell).
Grimes, who grew up before our eyes as Cassie Newman and later took on the role of her twin, Mariah, recently welcomed her first child when her son, Bridger Elias Foster, was born on December 13, 2023.
