Def Jam recording artist Rihanna will guest star on ABC's All My Children this summer. The songstress, whose music meshes dance, pop, reggae and R&B, will be the inaugural act at the new Pine Valley hot spot, ConFusion.
Hailing from the parish of St. Michael, on the Caribbean island of Barbados, 18-year-old Robyn Rihanna Fenty burst onto the music scene in 2005 with the hit single, "Pon De Replay." Her debut album, "Music of the Sun" was certified platinum. Now Rihanna is back with her second album, "A Girl Like Me." The lead single "S.O.S.," which samples the 80s song "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell, topped the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. For the follow-up single, "Unfaithful," Rihanna temporarily stepped off the dance floor to show that she can also sing a powerful R&B ballad. "Unfaithful" is currently in the top ten.
Meanwhile, "S.O.S" was selected as the theme song for Nike's latest marketing campaign for women. Rihanna makes her acting debut in the straight-to-video release, "Bring It On: All Or Nothing."
Rihanna's All My Children appearance is scheduled to air July 25th.
In related news, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Mary J. Blige will appear on ABC's One Life to Live. Blige will sing two tracks from her record-breaking number one album, "The Breakthrough."
