Eden Riegel to guest star in AMC reboot

Eden Riegel will return to All My Children as part of its Internet revival. The Emmy-winning actress will be part of a guest story arc. Riegel first appeared as AMC's Bianca in 2000.

Emmy winner Eden Riegel (Bianca Montgomery) will be returning to her Pine Valley roots. The actress has agreed to join All My Children for its relaunch under the Prospect Park masthead.

Prospect Park has confirmed that Riegel, who made her daytime acting debut on AMC in July 2000, will make a special guest-starring appearance in the revival of All My Children. The length of Riegel's return has not yet been announced, but it has been described as a "guest arc."

"Thank you all for the outpouring of support today," Riegel said on Twitter. "I am thrilled to be returning as Bianca! So I guess I better follow my... ahem... daughter @JordanLanePrice."

As previously reported by Soap Central, when All My Children returns, the storylines will have jumped five years into the future. As a result, most of Pine Valley's children will be aged. A recent casting call for a high school student named "Charlotte" was, in fact, an attempt to recast Bianca's daughter, Miranda.

Riegel appeared as a contract player on All My Children from July 2000 through February 2005. In 2005, Riegel won a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Younger Actress. Over the course of the following four years, Riegel made numerous guest appearances on All My Children. There were three big reasons Riegel did not return to the show full-time: location, location, location. All My Children taped in New York, and Riegel lived in California. When ABC announced in August 2009 that production of All My Children would be moving to Los Angeles, Riegel's return to AMC seemed inevitable. But it was not to be.

ABC ultimately opted to recast Bianca, with newcomer Christina Bennett Lind taking on the role of Erica Kane's youngest daughter. Lind remained with the show through its broadcast television finale in September 2011.

"So incredibly excited for you to carry the torch you so courageously lit," Lind offered in praise of Riegel rejoining AMC. "Long live Binx!"

Riegel, meanwhile, joined the cast of The Young and the Restless, where she played Heather Stevens from April 2010 to November 2011.

Lind and Riegel appeared together in a January 2012 special edition of Soap Central Live known affectionately as "Biancapalooza." To listen to the two actresses share their AMC memories -- as well as some surprise guests -- click here.
