Lifetime has renewed the soap star-studded Devious Maids for a second season. So far in its first eight episodes, Devious Maids has tallied 23 million viewers, making it the fastest-growing drama in Lifetime's history.
The ensemble cast stars Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez (ex-Pilar Domingo, As the World Turns), Edy Ganem, and Judy Reyes. It also features Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, All My Children), Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa Niles, General Hospital), Matt Cedeño (ex-Brandon Walker, Days of our Lives), Wolé Parks (ex-Dallas Griffin, ATWT), and Grant Show (ex-Rick Hyde, Ryan's Hope)
"I am so thrilled for the success of the show, but not surprised at all, because [Executive Producer] Marc Cherry's writing is so brilliant and every member of the ensemble is just wonderful, as well," Lucci told Soap Opera Digest.
There has been no timeline set for when the series, which was shot in Atlanta, will go back into production. The next 13-episode season will air in 2014.
Devious Maids airs Sundays at 10pm ET/9pm CT.
