A Manhattan judge has sided with Lesli Kay (Molly) in her legal fight against her former husband, Mark Sterling.
Sterling was suing his former wife for alimony based upon the actress' new worth and attained level of fame. Under New York law, celebrity or fame can be considered a marital asset and therefore compensation can be sought in divorce or alimony proceedings.
However, the judge presiding over the matter felt that Kay -- in spite of her recent Emmy win - "has not attained a significant level of fame and has not established an ability to consistently obtain lucrative work over an extended period of time."
Sterling had been seeking upwards of $1,000,000.
