Days of our Lives has trimmed another performer from its roster. Ian Buchanan (Ian MacAllister), who joined the show in February, has been let go.
The move isn't too surprising; it was announced earlier this year that Buchanan's on-screen wife, Sarah Brown (Madison James), will exit the show in August.
Though Buchanan is a newcomer to DAYS, the actor is no stranger to daytime audiences. Buchanan started his daytime career as Duke Lavery on General Hospital in 1986. Buchanan later returned to the fictional town of Port Charles -- but not as Duke, and not on General Hospital. Buchanan played Joshua Temple on GH's spinoff soap, Port Charles, in 2002 and 2003.
The actor's longest-tenured daytime role as as The Bold and the Beautiful's James Warwick. During his 1993 to 1999 run with B&B, Buchanan was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor at the Daytime Emmys. In 1997, Buchanan won the prize.
Buchahan also had a short-run on All My Children from 2005 to 2006.
Though fans may not remember it, Buchanan appeared on Days of our Lives once before. In February 2001, Buchanan played the role of Lord Sheraton at Greta Von Amberg's wedding celebration that turned into a massacre.
A final airdate has not yet been announced, but due to DAYS' taping schedule, Buchanan is expected to air for about three more months.
