They say that the Outstanding Supporting Actress category is one of the toughest acting categories in the Daytime Emmys race, which basically means that the talent seen in the reels is more than just outstanding -- it's freaking phenomenal. But don't take our word for it. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences just released snippets from the submission reels of this year's Supporting Actress contenders, so you can see for yourself.
Check out the video below to see Tamara Braun as General Hospital's Kim Nero, who's saying a heartfelt goodbye to her dying son; Rebecca Budig as GH's Hayden Barnes, who's revealing birth details of the daughter she kept hidden from Finn (Michael Easton); Susan Seaforth Hayes as Days of our Lives' Julie Williams, who's saying goodbye to her longtime husband before dying; Christel Khalil as The Young and the Restless' Lily Winters, who's speaking at Neil's (Kristoff St. John) funeral; and Annika Noelle as The Bold and the Beautiful's Hope Logan, who's just learned that her newborn daughter has died.
It should be noted that the clips are just samples of each actress' full reel -- but just because they're short snippets doesn't mean they're not powerful!
