Former One Life to Life star Kathy Brier (ex-Marcie Walsh) will appear on HBO's breakout hit Boardwalk Empire on November 14. The actress will portray the real-life Vaudeville performer Sophie Tucker, a sometimes bawdy woman known as "The Last of the Red Hot Mamas." Fans are in for a treat because, in addition to acting, Brier also has the chance to sing a few numbers as Sophie.
It's been a big couple of months for Brier. In addition to landing a role on the HBO drama, Brier is also a newlywed. On September 20, Brier posted a message announcing that she and long-time beau, Jason Munt, had tied the knot.
"Hollah! I did get married and I am now on my honeymoon," Brier wrote. "Will post pictures when I return. Thank you all for asking and the well wishes."
Brier made a surprise guest appearance on Soap Central Live to talk about her role on Boardwalk Empire. To listen to her segment on SCL, please click here.
Brier appeared on One Life to Live from 2002 to 2009. During that nearly seven-year run, she received a 2004 Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category. For a period of time in 2003 and 2004, Brier pulled double duty; in addition to her OLTL work, Brier appeared as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway production of Hairspray.
Boardwalk Empire airs Sundays at 900pm ET on HBO. If you miss the first airing, the show also repeats during the week, so be sure to check your local listings for the times and channel in your area.
