OLTL's Brandon Buddy shares inspiring post-recovery message

One Life to Live alum Brandon Buddy (ex-Cole Thornhart) urges those in trouble to please ask for help.

Former One Life to Live star Brandon Buddy (ex-Cole Thornhart). shocked the soap opera world in 2015 when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated and allegedly having dangerous drugs in his possession. The actor, considered one of the most important teenagers on ABC's now-canceled soap, began a long journey toward recovery and is now urging others in trouble to ask for the help they need.

The actor took to Twitter with messages that reference his own dark period and work to shed the perceived embarrassment of asking for guidance and help during times of need.

"Everyone please remember that it is ok to ask for help!!" he wrote in one message. "There are people out there including myself who are willing to do whatever it takes."

Another tweet reads: "Fortunately I have been in a spot in my life where I desperately needed help and Thank God there were people there to help."

As fans may recall, Buddy -- who played Marty (Susan Haskell) and Patrick's (Thorsten Kaye)'s son from 2006 to 2010 -- broke his silence seven months after his shocking 2015 arrest with a message of hope and gratitude.

"The beautiful thing about being lost is that then you can be found!!!," he wrote at the time. "About 7 months ago I was breaths away from death and now I'm stronger than I've ever been!!! I want to thank you all for your prayers!!! Words cannot describe how sorry I am for all the broken promises, for letting you down and for the hurt that I might have caused!!!! I have been blessed with a fresh start and understand the importance of it!!!.... I was rescued from the pit of my hell not to better my life but to help others! Thank you all for your love and support."
