Dreams are about to come to true for any One Life to Live fans who ever wondered what it would be like if Hank Gannon and Blair Cramer got married. It turns out the Llanview characters' portrayers, Nathan Purdee and Kassie DePaiva, have been cast as husband and wife for the upcoming film Killian and the Comeback Kids.
Written by Purdee's real-life son Taylor, the film tells the story of Killian, who lands back home in rural America after an exorbitantly priced education. Back in his failing Pennsylvania hometown, a chance encounter with a childhood acquaintance gives the summer new direction. The two throw together a rag-tag band of other "failed" locals for one shot to play the huge local music festival. Armed with only folk-rock, Killian and the band unite the community -- if just for one night.
DePaiva, who currently stars as Days of our Lives Eve Donovan, and Purdee, who's also known as The Young and the Restless' Nathan Hastings, will play Killian's parents.
Though Killian and the Comeback Kids has completed principal photography, the producers have started an Indiegogo Campaign to help finish and support the film. Donor perks include autographed CD's by DePaiva, a call with DePaiva, a walk-on role in the movie, instruments, and other items.
UPDATE (August 10, 2020): Killian & the Comeback Kids, starring Nathan Purdee and Kassie DePaiva, is set to make its theatrical debut in late August, adding new states and territories on an extended rolling basis as regions reopen. The film's release will be supported by a series of drive-in concerts from the cast and in-person appearances where possible.
Both the film's soundtrack and original score were created by the folk rock act The Cumberland Kids and consist of nine original songs. A soundtrack album will be released alongside the film, which features additional music from Maddi Jane, Laney Lynx, and Bandits on the Run.
Check out a sneak peek video with Purdee, who takes viewers behind the scenes of the film and shares his thoughts on working with his son, Taylor A. Purdee, who wrote and directed the film, and acting alongside Kassie DePaiva again.
