Does Lifetime know how to spoil soap fans or what? This weekend, the ultra popular film and television network is bringing fans not one but two films featuring former daytime stars.
The first is the Lifetime film The Wrong Mother, a movie featuring General Hospital alum Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) that tells the story of a mysterious hit and run that forces the victim to hire a live-in nurse with a dark secret.
"The Larson family's happy world is thrown into chaos after the mother, Kaylene, (Marcil) becomes the victim of a hit and run while out on her weekly bike ride. At the hospital, Kaylene's husband, Drew, is questioned by a police detective who has suspicions that the hit and run was intentional," states the official teaser.
"Over the next few days, Kaylene is in the intimate care of a kind nurse, Vanessa (Brooke Nevin), who also offers to continue her services as an in-house aid while Kaylene gets her strength back. The family decides to hire her and she moves in to take care of Kaylene while she recovers. Vanessa quickly takes on the role of the mother of the house, watching over Kaylene's husband and twins while keeping her heavily medicated. It is soon revealed that Kaylene was the recipient of Vanessa's donated eggs, which resulted in her giving birth to twins six years earlier. Vanessa hatches a plan to take Drew and the children hostage and claim what she thinks is her rightful place in their lives...even if it includes murdering Kaylene."
The Wrong Mother premieres on Saturday, April 8, at 8PM ET on Lifetime.
The second film soap fans can look forward to this weekend is Lifetime Movie Network's The Psycho She Met Online, featuring The Young and the Restless' Yani Gellman (ex-Rafe Torres).
States the official teaser: "When Karen's (Chelsea Hobbs) husband Andrew (Matthew Lawrence) is hospitalized after a car accident, Karen, an EMT, finds it hard to pay their bills. Seeing the success of airbnb, she decides to rent out their spare rooms to vacationing guests and all goes well until Miranda (Charity Shea) moves in. Miranda quickly infiltrates all areas of Karen's life from taking a keen interest in Andrew and his brother, Tyler (Gellman), to secretly videotaping Karen and creating bad reviews to prevent more guests from reserving rooms. When one of Karen's former guests is found murdered, Karen becomes convinced Miranda was involved but has no idea that kicking her psychotic guest out will send Miranda into a murderous rage."
The Psycho She Met Online premieres Sunday, April 9, at 8PM ET on Lifetime Movie Network.
