Sasha Calle is an actress primarily known for her role as The Young and the Restless’ Lola Rosales, for which she earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Younger Performer category in 2020.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Calle moved to Colombia at the age of ten. She moved back to the U.S. two years later and went to high school in Hollywood, Florida.
After graduating high school, Calle moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She graduated from AMDA with a BFA in Performing Arts in 2017 and went on to appear in the mini-series Socially Awkward and short films like 18 Minutes, The White Shoes, Young Blood, and Rogue Tiger. She landed the role of Y&R’s Lola in 2018.
In addition to acting, Calle is a singer/songwriter who plays the piano and the guitar. She released her first single Ex-Factor -- an emotional ballad remake of the 1998 Lauryn Hill classic -- in early 2020. She said the song takes her back “to a very bittersweet moment in my life. Where I fell in love for the first time and then felt like it was ripped away from me. My heart was hurting for a while there.”
In an interview with AMDA, Calle said she believes the most important part of the entertainment business is just showing up. “After many auditions, many failed promises, many tears, many collaborations that had fueled my soul, many lessons learned, on a regular day, Y&R calls [two months after the audition] to see if I'd like to test for a contract role,” she says. “I took it with a grain of salt and showed up. It was another audition. I had gotten far so many times. This was just another opportunity to show a group of people what I loved and what I did best. To my surprise -- 40 minutes later -- Y&R called and offered me the job. The same week I found my music producer!”
