In his office at Newman-Chancellor Enterprises, Victor issued strong orders to one of his minions. Angrily, Victor told the person on the other end of the line to ensure that the Cassie imposter got as far from Genoa City as possible. Victor expressed his concern that the imposter might be discovered. Victor issued a menacing directive and told his caller to act on the orders immediately. After Victor hung up the phone, he seemed uneasy.
At Victoria's house, Stitch was disoriented when he awoke thirteen hours after drifting off to sleep on Victoria's sofa. Victoria noted that Stitch had to have been exhausted from his grueling schedule at the hospital. Stitch said, "Some date I was. Of course, it wasn't really a date." Victoria, smiling, replied, "Of course." Stitch told Victoria that he'd enjoy taking her out on a real date soon, but he admitted that he might have lost his touch because he hadn't officially asked anyone out on a date in a long time.
On his cell phone, Stitch called Victoria. Grinning, Victoria answered, and Stitch asked her out. Victoria accepted and smiled at Stitch, who was standing a few feet away. Stitch went to the bathroom to wash up before returning to the hospital. Victor stopped by. He gave Victoria a gift Billy had left on the porch for Johnny. Stitch returned and mentioned the date before he noticed Victor. Victoria braced herself when Victor said, "Well, I'll be damned. I haven't seen a doctor make house calls for a hell of a long time."
Victor was pleasant and told Stitch that he had enjoyed their recent sparring match. After Stitch left, Victor told Victoria that he'd stopped by to see how she was coping without Billy. Victoria said, "Honestly, Dad, I miss him so much I can hardly take it, but I'm finding ways to move on." Victoria asked her father how he was coping with Adam's death. Victor said he didn't wish to discuss the matter. Victoria seemed sympathetic and nodded.
In Chancellor Park, the Cassie imposter sat on a bench. When she heard familiar voices, she turned her head so that her face would be hidden by the hood of her jacket. Sharon and Nick approached. Nick was still bouncing the basketball he and Sharon had used in their friendly free-throw competition. Sharon noted that she'd had fun. Nick said, "It was good, and it feels right." Sharon replied, "We have Cassie's ghost to thank for it."
The Cassie imposter overheard Sharon's conversation with Nick. The young woman listened as Sharon told Nick that having seen Cassie's ghost in a hallucination had ended up being a blessing in disguise. Sharon added that she hadn't felt worthy of being loved and giving love in a very long time. The Cassie imposter rose from her resting spot and attempted to walk away without being seen. Hiding her face with her long curls obscured the Cassie imposter's vision.
The Cassie imposter bumped into Noah and fell to the ground. Noah asked the young woman if she was all right. While keeping her face hidden, the Cassie imposter stood and ran away. Noah's attention was directed toward the sound of a woman giggling. He spotted his mother and father kissing. Sharon and Nick greeted Noah. The couple appeared to be concerned when they realized that Noah had spotted them being intimate, but Noah gave his parents his blessing. Sharon noted that the rest of the family wouldn't be supportive, especially Victor. Nick replied, "I don't want you worrying about it because if we're going to be together, Dad's just going to have to deal with that."
Nick stopped by Victoria's house with a gift for Johnny. Victor announced to Victoria and Nick that Abby had become engaged. Victoria said she knew that Abby planned to marry Tyler. Nick asked Victor if he opposed the union. Victor said he believed that Abby and Tyler were both too young to make a commitment. Victor said he could discern matches that were viable and ones that were not.
Victoria and Nick were taken aback when Victor said, "You're all adults now, so you're free to make any mistake you want." Victor invited Victoria and Nick to a family gathering to celebrate Abby's engagement. Victoria said she'd attend. Nick said he would attend with Sharon as his date. Victor scowled. Nick vehemently defended his relationship with Sharon and said that he wouldn't attend if Sharon weren't welcome.
After Victor left, Victoria, referring to Nick's defense of Sharon, asked, "What was that?" Nick shrugged. Victoria admitted that she had no right to question Nick because she'd taken Billy back numerous times. Nick encouraged Victoria to reconcile with Billy. Victoria said she couldn't go down that road with Billy again. Nick replied, "I've said the same, but life just keeps taking me back."
Stitch was walking through the park when he noticed the Cassie imposter dabbing at a wound on her upper leg. Stitch asked how the young woman had injured herself. The young woman said she'd fallen while running away from nosy strangers. Stitch introduced himself as Dr. Ben Rayburn and told the Cassie imposter to accompany him to the hospital for treatment. The woman protested, but Stitch said the woman should get a tetanus shot.
At the hospital, the Cassie imposter filled out medical forms and identified herself as Jane Doe. Stitch asked the young woman if she was running from the law.
The Cassie imposter didn't elaborate on her circumstances. Stitch stepped out of the exam room to prepare the injection for the young patient and ran into Victor in the hallway. Victor warned that Victoria was at a very vulnerable stage. Stitch assured Victor that he would never take advantage of Victoria's situation. The Cassie imposter stood in the doorway and overheard Victor when he said, "Just remember that I take a person's word very seriously."
Noah accompanied Sharon home, and she thanked her son for remaining by her side during the worst parts of her illness. Noah admitted that it had been difficult to watch his mother carrying on conversations with Cassie. Sharon asked what she had said. Reluctantly, Noah recalled that his mother had said that Nick would never forgive her. Noah said he didn't know what his mother believed Nick would not forgive her for having done.
Sharon, her memories suppressed, admitted that she'd done many acts she regretted and had no idea which she might have been referring to. Before Noah left, Sharon said that she felt good about her renewed relationship with Nick because there was nothing standing in the way of her happiness.
In a staging room set up for the models at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Neil and Hilary's kiss was interrupted when they heard a ruckus. Neil rushed downstairs to investigate. Jack, Kevin, and Lily had already pulled Chloe and Chelsea apart. The women shouted at each other. Kelly rushed to the lounge and noted that the women's angry insults could be heard in the reception room. Kevin physically restrained a combative Chloe. Abby entered from the stairs and exclaimed, "Ooh, cat fight!" Neil arrived from yet another entrance and angrily asked if the two women were out of their minds.
Two people entered through the revolving-door entryway. Chelsea and Chloe, appearing disheveled, were still breathing hard when Neil, visibly embarrassed, introduced their honored guests, Rick and Caroline from Forrester Creations. After everyone was introduced to the visitors, Kelly and Abby accompanied Rick and Caroline to the venue area for the fashion show. Chelsea and Chloe began arguing again, but Jack and Kevin ushered the warring women to separate areas. Lily expressed her angst to Neil, and he noted that quite often something unexpected occurred that changed a planned strategy. Hilary entered the room, and Neil's eyes followed her.
Jack later returned and asked Hilary about clearance documents for the music that would be used for the show. Hilary stammered when she tried to respond and quickly made an excuse to leave the room. Kelly and Abby returned just as Lily learned that Lauren had to bow out as a model. Abby quickly volunteered to replace Lauren. Lily and Kelly left with Abby to select a dress. Abby was giddy about joining the show.
Jack gave Chelsea a glass of water and berated her for picking a fight with her business partner. Chelsea reminded Jack that she'd just signed for her husband's body and wasn't in a happy-go-lucky mood. Jack suggested that Chelsea rest at home, but she noted that the designs were her heart and soul, so she didn't trust placing the show in anyone else's hands. Chloe noticed when Chelsea gave her a dirty look. Across the room, Kevin told Chloe to make peace with Chelsea. He told Chloe to start by remembering what had initially drawn Chloe and Chelsea together.
In the staging room, Rick gave pointers to one of the makeup artists. Chelsea admired a blue dress from Forrester Creations and said she wished she had designed it. Caroline agreed that it would look great on Chelsea. Caroline added that Chelsea's "Bo-ho Chic" designs would also be flattering. Chelsea, referring to their rocky introduction said, "Thank you for saving face. I owe you."
Chloe overheard the remark and continued to eavesdrop when Caroline and Rick took Chelsea aside and offered her a job at Forrester Creations. Chelsea said that she couldn't walk out on Neil and Jack because they'd built Jabot Fashion around her designs. Rick explained that Chelsea's designs could be marketed under a completely separate label.
Caroline explained to Chelsea that she could render a decision after conferring with her partner. Chelsea replied, "Chloe? No! She doesn't have to know." Chloe appeared to be stunned by Chelsea's comment. Chelsea explained to Rick and Caroline that aside from her work for Jabot, she was considered a free agent, and she accepted the offer to design for Forrester Creations.
Chelsea noted that she and Chloe had unresolved issues. Caroline replied, "I can't wait to hear all about them." Rick invited Chelsea to visit Forrester Creations in Los Angeles, where they could discuss the terms of a contract. Chelsea accepted the invitation with a handshake. Incensed, Chloe ran out of the room. Chelsea was unaware that Chloe had overheard her negotiations with Rick and Caroline.
Neil caught up with Hilary in an office and said they should discuss their kiss. Neil explained to Hilary that kissing her had been totally out of character for him. Neil added that he rarely acted on impulse, even in the presence of a beautiful young woman, who was also smart, incisive, and committed. Neil was moving in close to Hilary when Lily called out. When Lily entered the room, she asked, "What the hell are you doing?" Neil said he was to blame for Hilary's tardiness, and he left. Hilary said she was experiencing stage fright. Lily snapped her fingers and said, "Don't disappoint me or my father."
Lily gave Abby a dress zipped up in a garment bag and said she couldn't wait to see Tyler's reaction when Abby made her entrance wearing the dress. Lily asked why Tyler hadn't arrived. Abby explained that Tyler had driven to the airport to pick up the photographer. Lily said she hoped the two would show up on time. Abby assured Lily that Tyler would never miss an opportunity to boss others around. After Abby donned her diaphanous white gown, she phoned and left a message for Tyler. Abby told Tyler to hurry because she had a surprise for him.
Backstage, Chelsea checked the jewelry and accessories. Chloe noted that she'd already readied the pieces for the models. The stage manager, Connie Ross, took Chelsea and Chloe aside and told them that she'd heard about their shenanigans that had taken place earlier. Connie sternly warned that such behavior would not be acceptable. Connie added, "I don't care who the two of you are. I am running this show." Connie pressed her wireless earpiece close to her ear to listen to a cue before stepping away and yelling a command for the models to get set to walk the runway.
Chelsea and Chloe laughed about having been harshly reprimanded by Connie. Chloe apologized to Chelsea. Kevin stood nearby when Chloe admitted that she'd been behaving like a crazy woman. She promised to buckle down and focus on her work. Chloe said she hoped she and Chelsea could be friends again.
Chelsea replied, "I think for now that we should just concentrate on the show." After Chelsea walked away, Kevin approached Chloe, praised her for apologizing, and said that at least the show would run without a hitch. Stoically, Chloe halfheartedly replied, "Yeah, you're right -- no shenanigans."
In the lounge, Summer, Jack, and Kelly checked the schedule of events. Kelly told Jack that she was impressed with Summer's attention to detail when Summer noted that the hors d'oeuvres would be ready on time. Jack quipped that it would be better than serving only bread. Kelly laughed, and Summer said, "Want to let me in on the joke?" Jack explained that he and Kelly had suffered through a disastrous dinner date.
Summer was taken aback and said, "Wait a minute. You took Kelly out to dinner last night?" Jack simply stated that he'd made a mistake and had attempted to make amends by inviting Kelly to dinner. After Kelly was summoned to tackle a problem, Summer mentioned her mother. Jack clasped Summer's hand and agreed that Phyllis should have been a part of the fashion show.
In the staging area, Connie loudly announced that the next round of models would walk the runway in ten minutes. Directing her ire at Jack, Connie said that anyone not directly involved with the show should clear the area. Kelly hooked her arm around Jack's and offered to escort him to his seat. Summer noticed, frowned, and walked quickly away. Connie also shooed away Kevin. Chelsea noticed that the red gown she'd chosen as the highlight of her collection was still enclosed in the garment bag. Chloe took the dress and promised to get it to Esmeralda. After Chelsea walked away, Chloe grabbed a pair of shears and slashed the hem of the dress.
At the Chancellor mansion, Jill and Colin marveled that their lovemaking had been fantastic, and she said that she was starving. He suggested that they take some dessert back upstairs, and she said that he could stop with the sweet talk, since she'd put out once and likely would again. Colin asked if she intended to cast him aside after she'd used him, but Jill laughed and kissed him. She declared that she loved him, unless he was scamming her, in which case he could "rot in hell." Colin swore that he'd love her until the end of time, which he hoped would be a long time from then.
Jill called Colin a romantic cliché, and she thought that they should take the next step by having him move into her bedroom. He teased her for training him to be her sex toy, and they started to head upstairs, but her phone rang. She insisted on answering a call from Chance, since she'd talked to him about Rachel and the music box. After she spoke to Chance, Jill relayed to Colin that the Rachel in the journals had been Rachel Carlyle. Jill lamented that they'd wasted time chasing the wrong Rachel, and Colin said that they'd have to work double time to make up for it.
Colin suspected that Rachel Berenson had been a red herring, and he was determined to track down Jill's inheritance another way. He asked for the music box, and Jill said that she'd already looked at it from every possible angle, but he thought that the key was in there somewhere. Jill questioned where his priorities were, since they'd been about to go back to her room, and she wondered if he cared about her money more than he cared about her. Colin claimed that he was a sucker for a good mystery, but she was his wife and his priority. Jill vowed to find the fortune she deserved with the man she was addicted to, and she suggested that they go upstairs, but he said that he wanted something more.
Colin picked some flowers out of an arrangement on the table and stated that a bride needed to have a bouquet. Jill called him a hopeless romantic, and Colin declared that he'd never thought that he'd ever have someone in his life like her. He said that he loved her and adored her, and he promised that it would be a heck of a ride, but he couldn't think of anything he wanted more than to take it with her. Jill admitted that Colin got under her skin, took her breath away, and made her head explode, but they understood one another. She said that she was climbing on board with her eyes wide open, and he pledged that things would only get better. They kissed, and she went to get some champagne and asked him to meet her in the bedroom.
On the phone, Colin told someone that he would get the money, but it would take time to sift through a bunch of useless information, especially with a substantial distraction. He crowed that he was convinced that his wife would lead them to the "old girl's money," and he turned and found Jill standing in the doorway.
At the fashion show, Connie, the stage manager, ordered the Jabot models to finish getting ready, since they'd be on in five minutes. Neil noted that Tyler had arrived with minutes to spare, and Tyler confirmed that he had accompanied the photographer there. Tyler mentioned that he'd talked to Leslie, and Neil surmised that Tyler had heard the news that she'd suddenly gotten married. Tyler agreed that the nuptials had happened out of nowhere, and Neil commented that some people just went with their gut.
Tyler went over the shots he wanted with the photographer, and Abby asked if Tyler was ready for his surprise. He turned and saw her in a wedding gown, and he mused that she was beautiful. He quickly looked away and worried that he wasn't supposed to see her dressed that way, but she explained that it wasn't her wedding dress, although Chelsea had agreed to design one for her. He said that in moments like that, he couldn't believe that they were going to get married. She asked if he had second thoughts, but he swore that he wouldn't blow his shot to spend a lifetime with her. Connie scolded the lip-locked couple as she walked by.
In the Athletic Club office, Hilary and Lily clashed as they went over details for the reception, and Hilary complained that Lily was letting her grudges get in the way of running things. Connie peeked in and demanded to know what they were doing in the there, since they were supposed to be backstage. Lily snapped that they'd be there shortly, but Connie retorted that it wasn't good enough, and she sternly informed them that she'd given the five-minute call. Connie barked that she was running the show, and they had better get backstage immediately.
After Connie hurried off, Lily said that she was tempted to stay to make Connie sweat, and Hilary admonished Lily for running her business and her life based on spite. Lily asserted that she'd run such events for a living, and she suggested that Hilary go pout in a corner and miss the show. Hilary pointed out that Cane was on the road to forgiving Hilary, and she suggested that Lily follow his lead, but Lily snarled that she was too smart to fall for Hilary's act. Neil entered and declared that Lily looked smashing, and he awkwardly added that Hilary looked nice. Lily sauntered off, and Neil moved to help Hilary fix her bracelet, but she bristled. She said that they couldn't pretend that their kiss hadn't happened, since once might have been an accident, but it had almost happened again.
Chelsea searched for Chloe and asked about Esmerelda's dress. Chloe said that she'd had to check it first, and it was perfect. Chelsea grabbed the garment bag from Chloe, and she presented Esmerelda with the bag and told her to hurry. Kevin asked Chloe where she wanted to watch the show, but Chloe smirked as screams erupted from across the room. "What show?" Chloe cattily replied.
Chelsea accused Chloe of destroying the dress on purpose, and Neil appeared to warn them that he could hear them from out front. Chloe pointed out that Chelsea had finally given her credit for something, and she proudly admitted that since Chelsea had cut her out of the show and the business, she had cut the dress. As Lily and Hilary panicked, a seething Chloe asked if her actions had put a cramp in the career she'd created for Chelsea.
Neil asked if they could show the line without showcasing the final design, but Chelsea protested that building up the momentum to a climax would be everything. Neil wondered if Chelsea could fix the dress, and Chelsea demanded that Chloe leave. Neil offered to try to stall the restless audience, and Chelsea stared helplessly at the shredded gown and asked for a sewing machine. Moments later, Neil thanked the crowd for joining them, and Lily informed Abby that Chelsea was working like a maniac to attempt to repair the dress. Lily hoped that Chloe hadn't ruined the show for everyone.
Kevin watched the fashion show on a monitor in the office, and he told Chloe that Neil was tap-dancing to stall her show, while she was just sitting there. Kevin was stunned by her behavior, especially since she'd just apologized for slapping Chelsea. Chloe contended that her apology hadn't mattered to Chelsea and neither did she, and Chelsea no longer meant anything to her, either.
Chelsea rushed in with Esmerelda, who was wearing the salvaged dress. Hilary and Lily gushed that the gown looked amazing, and Chelsea told them to knock the audience dead. Connie cued the lights, and the crowd cheered as the models paraded across the stage in Chelsea's designs. Devon and Neil both stared at Hilary, and Devon and Esmerelda exchanged smiles as she prepared to go onstage. The audience erupted in applause at the sight of the showstopper, and Neil said that it was all for Chelsea, who joined her models for a bow.
The backstage staff clapped for Chelsea, and Tyler said that the Forresters had known a world-class production when they'd seen one. Neil called Chelsea's line the most impressive collection of the season, and Chelsea said that she'd forgotten to breathe, so she was going to take a minute to herself before the reception, but she thanked everyone for making the show a success. Devon hugged Lily and said that it would be a new beginning for the Athletic Club, and Esmerelda kissed Devon and said that she'd see him at the party.
Lily remarked that Abby's dress suited her, and Tyler told Abby that he was imagining her on their wedding day and their wedding night. Devon complimented Hilary for keeping her word by working both the dress and her job for Jabot, and Neil added that her efforts had been very impressive and that she looked beautiful. Hilary said that she was happy that she hadn't tripped and taken the line down with her, and she excused herself to get some water.
Devon and Lily tended to arrangements for their most important guests, and she asked if he had noticed something weird about Neil. Devon divulged that Neil had just found out that Leslie had married a random guy, and Lily thought that that it made no sense. Lily was surprised that Neil had kept it to himself the whole day, and she vented her anger toward Leslie. Lily and Devon agreed to lend Neil their support.
Neil asked Hilary if she was going to the reception, but she opted to turn in her dress and then turn into a pumpkin. He noted that it wasn't midnight yet, but she said to tell that to her feet, and he said that he'd see her at the office the next day.
Chloe grumbled that the applause was for Chelsea, while she was trapped in the office, despite being Chelsea's partner. Chloe acknowledged that it was her own fault, and Kevin pointed out that he'd done things that he didn't like to think about, but Chloe had helped put him back together after he'd spent time in various kinds of cells. He said that he'd hoped to do the same thing to help Chloe get back to being the woman she'd been before she'd lost Delia, but it had been an impossible expectation, and the best he could hope for was that she'd heal. Kevin was concerned that her anger was getting worse, and Chloe snapped that her former best friend had called her crazy, so she didn't need to hear it from her husband, too. Kevin admitted that it had been a mistake to marry Chloe.
Chloe wailed that she wasn't even a person, since she'd torn up dresses and destroyed shows, and she wouldn't share a bed like a normal person would. She said that no one would blame Kevin if he decided to walk away, and Kevin replied that he wasn't walking away, but he couldn't fill the hole in her heart. He added that he'd gotten in the way of Chloe getting better, and only the doctors knew how to handle it. She asked if he thought that she should be in a padded cell, and he sadly stated that her heart and her fire were gone, but he wanted her to get better and to have an amazing life. Kevin insisted that Chloe deserved happiness, but he couldn't give it to her, and she had to be the one to move toward it.
Chelsea entered and apologetically said that she hadn't known that anyone was in there, and Kevin congratulated Chelsea on the show's success. Kevin left, and Chloe promised that she'd stay there so that the cops could find her. Chelsea asked why Chloe had cut up their dress at their show, but Chloe argued that it hadn't been theirs, since Chelsea had made sure not to let Chloe near it. Chloe revealed that she'd overheard Chelsea's conversation with the Forresters, and she knew that Chelsea hadn't planned to tell her about Rick and Caroline's offer. Chelsea countered that Chloe had threatened to sue her, but Chloe said that it hadn't had anything to do with business but with the fact that her best friend had left her alone.
Chelsea explained that she'd had everything, but things had suddenly changed when everyone had learned that Adam had done the worst thing imaginable. Chelsea said that Chloe had acted as if Chelsea had taken Delia from her, but Chelsea never could or would have done that. Chloe admitted that she felt betrayed because Chelsea had loved Adam, and Chelsea countered that she'd felt betrayed, too, but she'd thought that she and Chloe could get through it together. Chelsea continued that Chloe's rage and resentment had made that impossible.
Chelsea pointed out that she'd had to claim her husband's body that morning, but instead of finding some happiness at the show, Chloe had slapped her and cut up her work. Chloe defended that Chelsea had fixed the dress and that it had looked incredible, but Chelsea said that despite everyone congratulating her and supporting her, she still felt all alone, and her best friend only wanted to see her suffer. Chelsea contended that she and Connor had needed Chloe but not the version of herself that Chloe had become. Chelsea recognized that losing Delia had broken Chloe and that only Chloe could find a way to put herself back together.
Chloe agreed that she wanted to be herself again, and she said that she hated how she'd changed. Chloe mentioned that in her therapy sessions, she said the words but couldn't let go of the rage, since it was the only thing she had left to hold on to. Chloe knew that she couldn't go on like she had been, but when she saw Connor, she saw Delia and Adam, and she needed to get better so that maybe she could still be part of Chelsea's life. Chloe whimpered that without Chelsea, she had absolutely nothing, and she couldn't lose Chelsea forever. As Kevin listened by the door, Chloe asked if Chelsea could give her one more chance, and Chelsea responded that she could as she tearfully pulled Chloe into a hug.
At the hospital, Michael entered Lauren's room, and she said that the doctor would be back with some test results. He asked if Lauren still felt dizzy, but she replied that she was just scared. He observed that she had excellent color, and he assured her that the doctor would say that everything was great with both Lauren and the baby. Lauren worried that they'd get news that they weren't ready to hear.
Michael pointed out that it was very early in Lauren's pregnancy, but Lauren fretted that something bad could happen at any time. Michael urged her not to start listing potential terrible things in her head, since that would only add to her stress, and he told her to concentrate on how much he loved her and the fact that they were in it together. The doctor entered and apologetically revealed that Lauren wasn't pregnant, and Lauren assumed that she'd lost the baby, but the doctor explained that the blood tests had shown that Lauren simply hadn't been pregnant at all.
Michael mentioned that Lauren had taken a home pregnancy test, and the doctor concluded that it had been a false positive. The doctor continued that Lauren's blood pressure was up, and Michael disclosed that Lauren hadn't been sleeping well or eating properly. The doctor advised Lauren to rest and to take care of herself. Michael took Lauren's hand, but Lauren forlornly requested that he just take her home.
At their apartment, Lauren and Michael heard the news that Chelsea's line had scored a fashion coup, and Michael noted that it was good news for the boutique. Lauren worried that she hadn't been at the show, and Michael informed her Kevin had passed along the word that she hadn't been feeling well, which had been the truth. Michael offered to make her something to eat, but she said that she wasn't hungry, and she sadly stated that she didn't have any cravings. He put his arms around her, and she sobbed that she should be relieved that nothing was wrong. Michael whispered that he understood.
Lauren said that she'd been worried about loving the baby, but she realized that she had already been in love with it, even if it had never existed. Michael recalled their fears about the baby and being parents again, but he thought that it would have been amazing. They imagined how it would have been to raise another child, and she cried that she felt like she'd lost it all. Michael insisted that what they had was miraculous after everything they'd been through, and he felt lucky.
Michael was concerned that Lauren had felt faint, and he said that he needed her to be happy and healthy for the next million years. She replied that she would be lost without him, and they had to cherish what they had because he was everything she could ever want. Lauren and Michael cuddled in bed, but she stared blankly at the ceiling.
Cane toasted Lily and the successful conclusion to the fashion show. She thanked Cane for the flowers, but when Cane said that the flowers were not from him, Lily pilled out the card and was disgusted when she found that the flowers were from Colin.
At the Chancellor mansion, Jill heard the tail end of Colin's phone conversation, as he said that he had been distracted but would soon have the "old lady's money." Jill was questioning Colin, and he was evasive, when Billy dropped by with Johnny. Billy did not warm to Colin's news that he and Jill had renewed their vows. Jill assured Billy that she was happy, so Billy gave grudging approval. Colin took Johnny so that Billy and Jill could talk.
Billy told Jill that he and Victoria had separated, and Billy had moved in with Jack. He told Jill that he had sold the restaurant and was working for Jabot. Jill said that she was proud, and Victoria would be, too. Jill was hopeful that Billy and Victoria would find their way back to each other. Billy was not so sure. As he left to take Johnny home, Billy warned Jill to be careful of Colin.
Jill focused on what Colin was hiding from her, but Cane and Lily interrupted. Lily was upset because Colin had sent flowers. She told him to stay away from her children. Colin apologized but said that he had thought that they had reached an understanding and that he had only wanted to congratulate her. He told Jill that the flowers were what had kept him on the phone.
Jill supported Colin and said that she, too, thought that they were all moving forward in an attempt to put the past behind them. Cane and Lily relented and agreed that Colin could see his grandchildren as long as he was not alone with them. After Cane and Lily left, Jill had advice for Colin. She told him that when he sent flowers to another woman, he should send them to his wife, as well, especially if he did not want her questioning him about his phone calls.
At the Athletic Club, Summer and Jack talked about how well the fashion show had turned out. Kelly walked up, and Jack complimented her on the terrific job she had done. Kelly and Jack traded jokes about food and their dinner date. Noah bumped into Caroline Forrester. They introduced themselves and discussed their family connections. Caroline next talked to Jack, and he introduced her to Summer.
Alone, Jack told Summer how proud he was of her and how glad he was that she was his daughter. After Jack left, Kelly gave Summer a box of chocolates as a thank you for Summer's hard work on the fashion show. Summer told Kelly about Phyllis and her work at Jabot. Summer told Kelly that Jack had been correct when he had said that the only thing that would have made the day better was for Phyllis to have been there. Kelly was thoughtful as she told Summer that Phyllis would have been proud of her.
Leslie went to see Avery to give her the bad news that Ian had been released due to a mistrial. Avery was not happy, but Leslie said that everyone was entitled to a good defense. Avery was stunned to find that Leslie had married Dr. Barton Shelby instead of Neil. Leslie said refusing to marry Neil and marrying Barton was no different that Avery leaving Nick at the altar for Dylan. Leslie thought that Avery's cooking show would be unprofessional and hurt their business. Avery disagreed.
Ian went to see Dylan at Crimson Lights to tell him that he had returned to Genoa City for good. Dylan could not believe that Ian was out of jail after he had hurt both Summer and Nikki. Ian said that Summer had visited him in jail and said that Ian had helped her. Ian added that he had taken the money from Nikki in an attempt to give Nikki closure.
Dylan accused Ian of sending Willa to extort money. Ian denied it. He told Dylan that he had information that would change things for both Dylan and Nikki. Dylan got hot, but Ian said that he did not want to trigger Dylan's PTSD, he only wanted to set things right. Ian offered Dylan tips on anger management. Avery interrupted, and Ian called Avery a calming influence, but she was no more welcoming than Dylan as they sent Ian on his way. Avery told Dylan that he had handled it well. Dylan questioned why Ian was back and what Ian was up to.
Noah bumped into Caroline again in Crimson Lights while she was there getting a snack and tweeting. Courtney walked up as Caroline left; Courtney asked what was going on. Noah said that he had to have known Caroline in another life. Noah asked Courtney to attend a family gathering, but she was reluctant because she thought that Noah's family would disapprove of her profession. Noah assured her that his happiness was all that mattered to his family, and Courtney made him happy.
Summer stopped by and told Noah and Courtney about the show. She said it had been great, but both she and Jack had missed her mom, and she wished Phyllis would wake up soon.
Jack was home at the Abbott house when Billy arrived there with Johnny. They discussed the success of the fashion show. Billy said that he had stopped by Jill's and put on a brave face, but it was hard, since Victoria seemed to be moving on. Jack said that he had seen Victoria with Stitch, and perhaps Billy was correct about Victoria's mindset. Billy said that the news just kept getting better and better.
After Johnny was put to bed, Jack and Billy talked about Victoria and Stitch. Billy told Jack that he had seen Victoria with Stitch the previous evening. Jack advised Billy to fight for the woman he loved. Billy said that Jack was right, and Billy could not give up. When the doorbell rang, Billy answered it to Kelly. He demanded to know what she was doing there.
Kelly returned Jack's tablet and phone, which he had left at the Athletic Club. Jack thanked her and mentioned their upcoming date, but after seeing a photo of Jack and Phyllis and learning that Billy was staying with Jack, Kelly declined to see Jack socially. She told him that she did not want to give Victoria any excuse to refuse a reconciliation with Billy as she hastily exited the Abbott home.
Abby and Tyler breathlessly giggled in bed after they'd made love, and he said that it had been amazing. She thought that he sounded surprised, and he admitted that he'd thought that getting engaged might have taken something out of their sex life, but it had made it even better. Abby silently turned away, and he asked what was wrong. She wondered if they were making a mistake. Tyler chalked Abby's apprehension up to pre-wedding jitters, and Abby testily asked if he knew from experience, since he'd been engaged before.
Tyler joked that his only experience had been getting out of a nightmare, and Abby questioned whether he was bored, since the chase had been over once he'd put a ring on her finger. Tyler realized that Abby was freaking out about the party that night, and he asked if she was worried about the Abbotts and the Newmans being together in the same room to celebrate. She pointed out that she and Tyler could change their minds about getting married, but Tyler pulled out his tablet computer and looked at their online engagement announcement, and he declared that there was no going back. Meanwhile, the woman with the tattooed wrist looked at the same announcement.
Abby realized that she had gotten upset over nothing, and she reasoned that the party would just be a family get-together, even though he'd be bombarded with questions. He asked if her family would wonder whether he was good enough for her, and she remarked that he was about to marry into two intense families, but everyone would be too busy arguing with one another to even think about it. She thought that her mom would have questions for him, but she suggested that he wear his sexy black jacket to distract Ashley. Tyler turned away, and she asked what was wrong. He mumbled that maybe she was right, and they were making a big mistake.
Abby concluded that Tyler wanted to call off the engagement, and he clarified that he wanted to marry her, but it already felt like they were in the middle of a game of dodgeball. She wondered if he didn't want to invite her family to the wedding, and he suggested that they elope to avoid the drama. Abby teased Tyler for pretending not to be nervous, when he was ready to run away just to avoid her family's questions that night. Tyler pledged his love and said that he couldn't wait to marry her, and he swore that was the only reason he'd suggested eloping. She stressed that it was okay to admit that the pressure was getting to him, but he insisted that it wasn't.
Abby declared that she and Tyler would go to the party and face both sides of her family together, and they kissed. She got up to get ready, and he looked perplexed. Tyler tried to coax Abby back into bed, but she said that she had an appointment to get beautiful. He said that she already was, but she replied that she would see him later, and she left. Tyler made a call and asked to meet Mariah.
Nick showed up at Sharon's door, and Sharon informed him that he'd just missed Faith, who'd left for school. Nick said that he was there to see Sharon, and she figured that he was there to check to see if she'd survived the night without him. She assured him that there hadn't been any nightmares or phantasms, and she imagined that it had been nice for him to finally get a good night's sleep in his own bed. Nick reported that he'd barely slept at all, since he hadn't been able to stop thinking about her.
Sharon said that she'd also missed Nick the prior night, and she mentioned that Faith had wanted to know why he hadn't been there. Sharon continued that she'd explained that Nick had only stayed until Sharon had been feeling better, and since she was stronger, he had gone back to his own place. Nick wanted to stop hiding how they felt from Faith, and he acknowledged that he and Sharon had agreed to take things slowly, but he felt like they'd turned back the clock. Sharon suggested that he take the time to court her, and he asked her on a date that night.
Sharon was incredulous when she learned that Nick wanted to take her on a date to his dad's house, and he countered that it was a family gathering. She anticipated another battle between the Abbotts and the Newmans, but Nick promised that no one wanted to ruin the party for Abby. Sharon argued that she'd ruin things by showing up, since Abby hated her. Nick said that Abby would be busy helping Tyler through the most grueling night of his life, and he added that he'd already told Victor that he intended to escort Sharon to the party. Sharon replied that Nick should have talked to her first because she wasn't going.
Sharon said that she didn't want Nick to throw her in Victor's face to show that Victor couldn't manipulate him. Nick conceded that he couldn't stand the fact that Victor had used Delia's death to get closer to his grandson, but he declared that he wanted to be with Sharon and that he didn't want to hide it. Nick agreed not to pressure her to attend, but she understood that he had to be there for his family. Nick replied that Sharon was his family, too, and he added that they had been through a lot and had always ended up back together, like two halves of a whole that were no good without one another. Sharon stated that she'd never been good without him, and they kissed passionately.
Nick pulled away and said that he didn't want to rush Sharon, but she assured him that she was ready. She asserted that all the time they'd spent apart or with other people hadn't been right, since they were only right together. They resumed kissing and began to disrobe. Nick and Sharon gave in to their passion and made love.
As Nick and Sharon basked in the afterglow, he asked what she was thinking about. She said Victor, and he commented that her answer was weird, but she explained that she'd been considering going to the party. Nick reiterated that he wouldn't make her go, but she realized that she'd have to adjust to dealing with Victor if she and Nick had a future together. Nick said that the future was overrated, and he was more interested in the present. They kissed.
Someone knocked on Paul's office door, and Paul was stunned when a smiling Ian entered. Ian crowed that the wheels of justice had continued to turn, and Paul cautioned that Ian was pressing his luck by being at the police station. Ian questioned where else he was supposed to report a crime, and he revealed that someone had broken into his hotel room. Ian surmised that Paul had already known about it, since the culprit hadn't stolen anything but had just trashed the place to send a message. Paul contended that if the police had wanted to give Ian a message, they would have done it in person, and it was just a matter of time before that happened.
Ian inquired whether Paul intended to trump up a charge against him, and Paul promised that the next time Ian was charged with something, it would stick. Ian lectured that Paul's self-righteousness was stunting Paul's spiritual growth, and Paul invited Ian to file a police report. As Ian headed for the door, he pondered who had tried to send him a message if the police hadn't been behind the break-in.
Avery bustled around in her kitchen to prepare for her test shoot. She fretted that she'd be a total klutz, but Dylan assured her that she would be fine. She said that she was more worried about him, since he'd tossed and turned all night because his father was back in town. Dylan refused to let Ian get to him, but Avery pointed out that Ian already had. Avery acknowledged that Leslie had just been doing her job, but she hated what it was doing to Dylan.
Dylan insisted that it was Avery's day and that he didn't want to spoil it, and he asked if there was anything he could do. She asked whether or not she should wear an apron, and she worried that she looked goofy enough already. Dylan assured her that she looked amazing, and they kissed. She realized that she had a stain on her shirt, and he amorously offered to help her get out of it, but his phone rang. She went into the bedroom to change, and Dylan answered a call from Paul, who asked Dylan to stop by the station.
Avery reappeared and asked who had been on the phone, but there was a knock at the door, and Dylan suggested that she finish getting ready while he dealt with the film crew. Avery hurried off, and Dylan greeted Marcus, who was leading the shoot, and two other members of the crew. Dylan introduced Avery, and the cameraman, Austin, gushed that it was great to meet her. Dylan said that he had to take off to handle something, and he started to tell Avery to break a leg, but he stopped himself and said not to break anything.
A technician fitted Avery with a microphone, and Marcus asked how Avery was doing. She replied that she'd done a lot of public speaking in court, but the stakes were higher for the audition. During the first take, a speechless Avery stared at the camera with a smile plastered on her face. Marcus motioned for her to start, and she stiffly welcomed the audience to her kitchen and revealed that she'd be sharing her recipe for an easy, delicious chocolate soufflé cake. She announced that she had a trick to cracking eggs, but she accidentally dropped her egg in a bowl, and the egg broke. As she tried to fish the eggshells out of the bowl, she accidentally knocked over some cookware.
Avery apologized, and Austin coached her to just be herself and not to worry about the camera, since she was what people had responded to in her first video. He said that he'd wanted to reach in and try her key lime pie, and she offered to make one for him, but he replied that his girlfriend already had. Marcus sternly inquired whether they were setting up again or if they were done, and Avery snapped into action. They started shooting the next take, and she was much more relaxed. Her phone rang, and she covered by stating that the recipe was easy enough to make while fielding calls from the office. She proceeded to separate eggs while calmly dealing with a work crisis.
Dylan arrived at the police station and asked if Paul had found a reason to throw Ian in jail, and Paul reported that Ian had been there earlier to file a report about someone trashing his hotel room. Paul inquired whether Dylan had done it to give Ian a message to get out of town, and Dylan remarked that Ian would be smart to listen to the message, but he hadn't been the messenger. Paul hoped that Dylan wouldn't resort to threats, but he suspected that Dylan would do whatever he could to find out what Ian was keeping from him.
Dylan said that Ian had claimed to have a secret, but he hadn't believed it because it was the oldest trick in the book to string someone along until they were willing to do anything. Paul asked if the Ian's ploy had worked, and Dylan admitted that he had wanted to rip apart more than a hotel room. Paul warned that he'd have to arrest Dylan if he had, but Dylan replied that Ian was the one Paul needed to keep an eye on. Paul recognized that Dylan had suffered through a tough year, but it seemed like things were turning around, and he urged Dylan not to mess things up by doing something stupid.
At the ranch, Victor startled Nikki and asked why she'd been deep in thought. She remained silent, and he asked if she was worried that Abby's engagement party would be too much for her. Nikki remarked that the party arrangements were under control, and Victor wondered if she thought that he'd start a ruckus with the Abbotts. Nikki said that she knew that Victor wouldn't ruin the evening for Abby, and she revealed that Ian was back in town.
Nikki told Victor that Dylan had informed her that Ian's case had ended in a mistrial and that there was a possibility of a retrial, but Ian planned to stay in Genoa City until then. Victor seethed, and Nikki said that she hadn't wanted to tell him because she'd known that he'd get worked up. Victor asked if Ian had contacted her, and she insisted that Ian hadn't been in touch, but she was debating whether to call Paul to force Ian to leave town. Victor huffed that she didn't need Paul to make that happen.
Nikki asked Victor to promise that he wouldn't do anything foolish, and she requested that he set aside his hatred that evening for Abby's sake. Victor reminded her that he'd already agreed to Sharon accompanying Nick to the party, since he wanted his children and grandchildren to know that he loved them. Nikki questioned what would happen after the party if Ian stayed in town, and Victor became incensed at the thought of what Ian had done to Nikki and Summer. Nikki again pleaded with him to let it go.
Victor argued that Ian was a predator who had gone after Summer, but Nikki countered that she'd stood up to Ian, and she swore that Ian couldn't hurt her. Victor vowed that he wouldn't let Ian harm her, but Nikki wanted to let Paul take care of it. Victor groused that Ian had played the authorities for fools, and he refused to let Ian hurt his family. Victor declared that Nikki didn't need to worry about Ian anymore, and Nikki replied that she wasn't worried about Ian, but she was scared about what Victor would do. Victor reluctantly promised not to go after Ian, but he added that things would change if Ian went after Nikki, Summer, or anyone else in their family.
Ian strolled through Chancellor Park, and he smiled as he sent a text message. Victor and Nikki didn't notice when she received Ian's message, which suggested that she meet him in the park for a heart-to-heart talk.
Later, Nikki opened the door to leave and was surprised to find Dylan about to knock. She explained that she was on her way to take care of last-minute preparations for Abby's engagement party, and Dylan said that he'd wanted to make sure she was okay. He asked if Ian had tried to contact her, and she assured him she was fine, but she was glad that Dylan had checked up on her. He swore that he wouldn't let Ian hurt her, and she told him to get in line, but she was capable of taking care of herself.
Avery concluded her audition by saying that no one would be able to resist trying her cake, and she took a bite and proclaimed that it was perfect. Marcus praised that she had been great, and Austin added that she'd been perfect, just like her cake. Avery served the cake to the crew, and Austin exclaimed that it was even better than her pie. Dylan returned home and noted that it looked like things had gone well, and Avery remarked that she'd need more than three fans. Dylan replied that she had four, and she thanked the crew as she showed them out.
Dylan asked if Avery had saved a piece for him, but she wouldn't let him indulge until he told her where he'd gone. Dylan revealed that Paul had asked him to stop by the police station, since someone had sent Ian a message that it was time to go. Dylan hoped that Ian had understood loud and clear that no one wanted him there.
Ian checked his watch, and he heard someone approaching. He commented that he'd thought he'd been stood up, but he was surprised to face Victor. Victor coldly asked if Ian was waiting for Victor's wife, but he said she wouldn't be there. Meanwhile, Nikki returned home with an armful of flowers, and she called out for Victor, but she received no response.
Victor recounted that he'd warned Ian about what would happen if Ian got out of prison, and Ian asked if Victor was there to make good on his threat. Victor recalled that Ian had said that threats were for the weak, and Ian speculated that Victor had intercepted his message to Nikki because Victor was afraid that she might succumb to the pull she felt toward Ian. Victor demanded that Ian stop with the psychobabble, since Nikki felt nothing but disgust for Ian. Ian said that they'd find out because he was staying in Genoa City, and Victor advised that he'd know about Ian's every move.
Victor warned that Ian would regret it if he contacted Nikki or Summer, and Ian questioned what would happen if the women contacted him. Victor promised that if Ian breathed the same air as Victor's family, it would be the last breath Ian took, and Ian would "never see it coming."
Sharon asked what Nick thought about what she'd chosen to wear to the engagement party, and he replied that he couldn't think when she looked that amazing. He found it hard to believe that she had been in the hospital not long before, and she marveled that her treatment had worked. Nick stated that he would be proud to walk in with her on his arm, and Sharon wondered if they were ready to show up as a couple in front of his family. He asked if she was having second thoughts.
Sharon admitted that she'd reconsidered going to the party, but someone had convinced her to stick to the plan. She reached for an open photo album that displayed a picture of Cassie, and Nick looked alarmed, but Sharon assured him that she had only been reminiscing about happy times, including some that they'd had with Victor. Sharon flashed back to Cassie asking Nick if she could call him "Daddy," since Cassie had always wanted a real dad. Nick remarked that it was nice to be able to talk about Cassie, and Sharon said that it had felt like her life had shattered when Cassie had died, but she got to decide how the pieces fit back together, starting with going to the party with him.
At the Abbott mansion, Traci helped Jack get ready, and she warned him to play nice with Victor for Tyler and Abby's sakes. Billy entered in casual attire, and he declared that he wasn't going to the party. "The hell you're not," Ashley announced as she appeared in the doorway. Jack hugged Ashley, and Traci pointedly commented that it had been generous for Victor to invite all the Abbotts, but Billy countered that Victoria needed space.
Traci, Ashley, and Jack presented arguments about why Billy should attend to show that he hadn't given up on Victoria. Traci pointed out that everyone knew that Billy and Victoria still loved one another and that the night was about celebrating love. Billy was afraid of what he'd do if Victor provoked him, but Ashley insisted that Victor wouldn't ruin Abby's big night. Jack contended that if Victor could suck up his animosity for one night then Billy could, too, and Ashley assured Billy that his family would be there to support him.
Tyler met Leslie for a drink at the Athletic Club, and he contemplated taking his boxing gloves to the party in case Victor wanted to go a couple of rounds. Leslie imagined that Victor would toast to Abby and Tyler's long, happy future, and she gushed that Tyler had gone from tagging buildings to marrying into a "family of one-percenters." Leslie acknowledged that despite Abby's privileged upbringing, Abby was the real deal, whereas Mariah had never been good enough for Tyler. Abby showed up and asked where Tyler had disappeared to.
Tyler said that Abby was killing him with how gorgeous she was, and he asked if it was bad luck to see one another before the party, but she informed him that the superstition only applied to the wedding. Abby congratulated Leslie on getting married and said that she couldn't wait to meet Leslie's husband that night, but Leslie explained that it wasn't the best place to introduce Barton to Neil's friends. Abby admitted that she'd been surprised to hear that Leslie had gotten married, and Leslie acknowledged that it seemed hypocritical, but Abby argued that Leslie had just followed her heart and that some people were meant to be together.
At the ranch, Nikki searched for something, and Victor handed over her phone and claimed that he'd thought it had been his. She asked if there had been any calls about the party, and she noted that the guests should start arriving any minute. Victoria entered, and Victor went upstairs to get ready. Victoria worriedly questioned what he was really getting ready for, and Nikki hoped that he would be on his best behavior, since it had been his idea to have a party with all of the people Abby cared about in the house. Victoria asked if Billy planned to attend, and Nikki inquired whether Victoria wanted him there or not.
Victoria said that she was just curious whether Victor had invited the entire Abbott family, and Nikki remarked that they would find out soon enough. Summer, Courtney, and Noah arrived, and Summer informed Nikki that Courtney was actually a police officer. Nikki left to speak with the bartender, and Noah followed to get some drinks. Courtney chided Summer for mentioning that she was a cop, but Summer implied that they might need Courtney's services, since anything could happen when the Abbotts and Newmans got together.
The Abbott family arrived, and Ashley implored Jack and Victor to keep the bloodsucking to a minimum. Victor glared when Billy appeared in the doorway, and Billy and Victoria locked eyes. Victor grumbled that he'd hoped that Billy wouldn't show up, and Ashley warned Victor not to make trouble that night. Nikki pulled Victor aside to say hello to Traci, who said that she was looking forward to an enjoyable evening, and Nikki replied that she'd be satisfied with an uneventful one. Billy tentatively greeted Victoria, who said that she was glad he'd shown up because it would mean a lot to Tyler and Abby. Victor offered Jack a drink, and Jack credited Victor with agreeing to coexist under the same roof for a happy occasion.
Ashley remarked that Tyler was special if he'd talked Abby into settling down, and Abby praised Ashley's recent efforts to raise funds for charity by getting millionaire celebrities to show up at exclusive events. Meanwhile, Jack commented to Leslie that Tyler seemed nervous, and she explained that Tyler wasn't accustomed to socializing with the upper crust. Abby told Traci that she and Tyler might still live at the house for a while until they found a place of their own, and Traci said that where they lived wasn't as important as finding the right person. Traci advised Abby not to get sucked into any family drama. Tyler said that he appreciated Victor opening his home to them, and Victor stated that he took his family's happiness very seriously. Victor spotted Nick enter with Sharon.
Noah thought that his parents were making a statement by showing up together in front of the whole family, and Nick said that everyone had to accept it. Sharon hoped that no one would throw eggs at her, and Abby pulled Nick aside and admonished him for inviting Sharon. Abby accused Nick of upstaging her celebration, but Nick defended that he and Sharon were together and happy, and he didn't care what people thought. Abby pointed out that Sharon had hurt him, and he countered that he had hurt Sharon, too. Nick said that all relationships had rough patches, and he hoped that Abby and Tyler got through theirs with less pain than Nick and Sharon had experienced.
Nikki remarked that Abby had "come a long way," and Abby recalled when she'd ridden in naked on a horse. Nikki fondly remembered the creative wedding ceremonies that Abby had planned when Nikki had been in the hospital, and she gushed that she was very happy that Abby had found love with Tyler. Abby said that she might have played Lady Godiva, but she had been a poor imitation of the real warrior that Nikki was, and she wished that she had half the strength and courage that Nikki had displayed when battling her multiple sclerosis. The women hugged.
Ashley raised her glass to Abby and Tyler, who she said were about to plunge into matrimony despite having questionable role models. Ashley said that she was thrilled for them and that she knew Brad and Colleen would have been, too. Ashley continued that it wasn't easy to find someone to connect with, but Victor and Nikki had demonstrated that it was possible to overcome life's obstacles, and three families with differences had joined together that night to celebrate the irresistible force of love. An emotional Victoria quietly ducked out, and Billy followed her as Ashley toasted to her daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law. Ashley hoped that Abby and Tyler cherished what they had and fought for it, and the guests clinked their glasses together.
Victor remarked that it took more than love to sustain a marriage and that some people in the room knew what it took to have a successful union -- commitment, loyalty, mutual respect, and forgiveness. He said that he wished Abby the greatest happiness, and although he didn't know Tyler well, he respected Tyler for making his way under difficult circumstances. Victor counseled that no matter how much a man and a woman loved one another, they would be tested, and he hoped that Abby and Tyler would rely on the support and wisdom from people in that room, especially his beautiful wife. Victor wished all the happiness in the world to Tyler and Abby, and everyone raised their glasses as the couple kissed.
Abby called Victor the best dad ever, and Victor proclaimed that he would do anything for his family. Traci asked Summer if things were settling down, and Summer confided that she wasn't sure whether she should accept Jack's job offer at Jabot. Traci opined that Summer had plenty of time to worry about a career, and she encouraged Summer to enjoy her youth by traveling and meeting new friends. Summer asked how she was supposed to do that when Phyllis might never wake up again, and Traci said that Phyllis wouldn't want Summer to put her life on hold. As Summer glanced at Jack, she replied that it didn't feel right, at least not for her.
Courtney asked if Tyler felt intimidated, since as Noah's girlfriend, she was freaked out by the Newmans' stories about corporate jets and private islands. Noah approached and inquired whether Tyler was ready to run for the hills, but Tyler swore that Abby was worth sticking around for. Abby thanked Ashley for the beautiful toast, and she wished that Kyle could have been there, but she understood that someone had needed to hold down the fort at Jabot. Abby continued that she was happy that Billy had shown up, and the women agreed that they were glad that he'd gone after Victoria.
Billy chased Victoria outside and asked if she was okay. She said yes and then no, and she admitted that it had been hard hearing Ashley's toast. Billy suddenly pulled Victoria into a kiss, and she responded. Victoria eventually pulled away and said that she had to go home, and Billy offered to take her, but she refused and walked away.
Nikki commended Victor for hosting a successful evening, and Victor wondered where Victoria had gone, but Nikki said that they had to trust that Victoria knew what she was doing. Victor grumbled that he'd trusted his son to escort a pyromaniac who had burned down the whole house, and Nikki urged Victor to try not to think about it. Nick and Sharon approached and complimented Victor's speech, and Nick applauded Victor for getting the families together without starting a war. Nick remarked that it was a new beginning for all of them.
Courtney asked Summer about the fashion show, and Summer replied that it had been different to be on the other side of things. Courtney asked if drugs had been involved, and Jack overheard and insisted that no Jabot model would get her hands on any illicit drugs, especially from Bonaventure Industries, which was in the process of being shut down. Victor reiterated that he'd had nothing to do with the drugs, and Jack huffed that they'd see. Victor ordered Jack to stop riding in like a white knight to resolve the problem Jack had created, but Nikki intervened and ushered everyone to the dining room for cake. Tyler told Abby that they'd dodged a bullet, and they kissed as someone peered in through the window.
Sharon realized that she'd left Abby and Tyler's gift in the car, and Nick went to retrieve it. After he left, Sharon heard footsteps behind her, and she saw Victor glowering at her. Meanwhile, Nick heard a rustling noise by his car, and he called out to ask if someone was there. He was stunned when he encountered Cassie's look-alike.
Victoria returned home, and there was a knock at the door. She asked who it was, and Billy called out that he needed to speak to her. She hesitantly opened the door, and he said that he wanted to talk about what had happened. She insisted on showing him something instead, and she told him to wait there. Victoria went upstairs and returned after she'd changed into a sleek black dress.
Billy said that Victoria looked even more beautiful than she had before, and he suggested that he make a reservation for dinner to live it up, since it wasn't every day that he got back together with the love of his life. He reached for her, but she pulled away, and she said that she shouldn't have let the kiss happen. He argued that she'd wanted it as much as he had, but she called it a mistake, and she couldn't pretend that he wouldn't hurt her again. He promised that he wouldn't, but she countered that he'd done so every time, and she hated him for it. She added that she hated herself for not being able to break free of him.
Billy asked why Victoria had dressed up for him, and he suddenly realized that she was going out with Stitch. He asked if she was throwing it in his face, and Victoria explained that she'd wanted to show Billy that she was moving on, since he might believe it if he saw it. Billy thought that she was trying to make herself believe it, but she flatly told him goodbye. Billy declared that she could go on as many dates as she wanted or that she could even marry Stitch, but what Billy and Victoria had would never be over. She struggled against tears as he headed for the door. Victoria called Stitch to confirm that their date was on, but she sighed heavily as she hung up.
At the penthouse, Chelsea gazed at Adam's death certificate, and she answered a knock at the door. Jeffrey hugged her and groaned that his poor little girl was suffering, and Michael suddenly appeared. Chelsea asked what Michael was doing there, and Michael replied that Jeffrey had summoned him on Chelsea's behalf. Jeffrey said that Chelsea could use help from someone trustworthy to deal with life's details, like bills and life insurance policies. Chelsea realized that Jeffrey meant Adam's estate, and she accused Jeffrey of trying to cash in on her husband's death.
Chelsea ranted that she hadn't even buried her husband, yet Jeffrey had already hired a lawyer to finagle a payday for himself, and she called him a selfish, insensitive ingrate of a man who she was embarrassed to call her father. Jeffrey asked Michael to call him later with an update, and he left. Chelsea apologized that Jeffrey had dragged Michael in, but Michael said that he was glad to see how she was doing, and he mentioned that he'd heard that the fashion show had been a huge hit. Chelsea asked if Lauren was feeling better, and Michael replied that Lauren was fine.
Michael spotted Connor's favorite toy on the couch and said that the boy had great taste, and Chelsea said that Connor was like his dad. Michael sympathized that she was dealing with conflicting emotions, and she lamented that she and Adam had been "to hell and back," and they'd finally committed and built a family, but it had all been a lie. Chelsea said that the only thing she was sure of was that Adam had loved her, but she didn't know if she'd ever be able to reconcile it.
Michael recognized that Jeffrey's motives had been self-serving, but he didn't think Jeffrey was wrong about settling Adam's estate. Michael offered to handle it for Chelsea, and she said that she could use all the help she could get. Michael mentioned that he knew that things were strained between her and Chloe, and Chelsea revealed that they'd talked things out at the fashion show. Chelsea added that she was grateful to Jack for stepping up as Connor's godfather and legal guardian, and she said that Victor had been more of a father to her than Jeffrey ever had been. Michael was surprised, considering Victor's history with Adam, but Chelsea mused that Adam's death had devastated Victor, and she believed that Victor's priorities had become clearer.
After Michael left, Jeffrey reappeared on Chelsea's doorstep, and she coolly asked if he'd forgotten to steal her wallet. He apologized, but she snapped that there weren't enough days left in his life to apologize for all the ways he'd hurt her, starting with abandoning her mother. Jeffrey said that he shouldn't have left back then or that night, and he agreed that he was a lousy father. He realized that he couldn't do things over, but he asserted that he could do things better by being there for Connor in a way he hadn't been there for Chelsea. Chelsea said that she wanted to believe him, but her instincts told her that she couldn't.
Jeffrey said that he couldn't blame Chelsea for doubting him, and he confessed that he'd been a coward who had wanted to run away when he'd found out he had a daughter. Jeffrey begged for another chance to try to get it right or to at least screw up less, and Chelsea asked if he would go home if she said yes. He wished her sweet dreams, but before he headed out, he asked for money for a cab. She groused that he would never change, and she handed him some cash and ordered him to go. Moments after Jeffrey departed, there was another knock, and Chelsea yelled about what it would take to get rid of him, but she found Billy at the door.
