Trapped in the mine shaft with no visible signs of escape, Greenlee starts to pray that Ryan will come to her rescue. As if being sent messages telepathically, Ryan starts to think of her. Uncertain why she disappeared, Ryan lashes out at Jack, saying that his abandonment of his daughter for Kendall is the reason for all her problems.
Jack is dismayed when Kendall tells him that Erica insisted she not take the plea bargain that was offered her. Erica, meanwhile, is haunted with thoughts of Michael. Both Bianca and Kendall worry about Erica's mental state and ask Reggie to keep an eye on her.
Tad finds a homeless woman named Prilly, who may know something about where Erica was the night Michael vanished. Prilly tells him what she saw from her angle and suggests that Erica might have been the woman she saw going into Michael's condo that fateful night. Erica worries that she blacked out the memory of killing Michael, but Tad tells her not to jump to any conclusions.
Jack fears for Erica when he finds her will out in the open, prompting him to go in search of her. Ryan turns a document over to Bianca that gives her baby the rights to Cambias fortune. Bianca doesn't want the Cambias money, but Ryan insists that it's what Alexander would have wanted.
Still trapped, Greenlee has visions of Kendall and comes to realize that she's responsible for her own problems.
Ryan's psychic flashes of Greenlee start coming more frequently, but he dismisses them. Meanwhile, Babe's unconditional acceptance of Bianca's baby, no matter who the father is, touches Bianca.
Edmund gets the straight prognosis from Maria -- he most likely will never walk again. He expresses his desire to contact a Dr. Taylor, who is a surgeon that says he can repair Edmund's damaged body. Maria, however, is fearful of the risk that particular surgery would place on his life.
Kendall stood in an empty courtroom and imagined the jury handing in the verdict. The judge pronounced "Guilty as charged" and Livia had to hold Kendall up. Then the judge told her that the jury recommended lethal injection. Kendall came back to reality as she heard a news reporter outside the door describing the bleak situation. She sat down and Simone came in and sat behind her. Simone begged Kendall for forgiveness and Kendall gave it to her. Then Mia arrived and begged for the same, saying she was sorry for listening to Greenlee. She also said she was jealous that Aidan cared so much for her. Kendall told Mia that Aidan cares for her too. The three women made up as Livia came over and asked if Kendall was ready.
Jack stormed into Adam's living room and demanded information. Adam said he had no intention of incriminating Erica on the witness stand. Jack told him Erica was missing and Adam suggested he go find her. Jack refused until he found out everything Adam knows about the night Michael Cambias died. Adam said he would make himself look like a cross between Son of Sam and Jack the Ripper on the witness stand to help out Erica and Kendall. JR overheard this and said "No way, you're not going to make yourself look guilty." Jack left as JR told Adam he was going to the courthouse with him. Adam was touched and went to get the car. Babe came downstairs and asked JR to go to her OB appointment with her. JR told her he was going to court with Adam and Babe was very understanding. He left with Adam and Krystal came in, telling Babe she was messing things up. Babe told her she had everything under control. She told her mother that she got Paul to agree to do the paternity test and fix it if need be. Krystal was thrilled until Babe told her there was a hitch, that Paul thought he was going to get "lucky" with Babe. She said she had to string him along to get him to do the test. Krystal said she'd be glad when this whole mess was over and then offered to take Babe to lunch. Babe agreed and Krystal went to get her purse. The doorbell rang and Babe ran to answer it. Paul staggered in and grabbed Babe and kissed her.
Ryan found Erica asleep on Chris's grave in the snow. He finally got her to wake up but she was confused about where she was. Erica said she had been at her office "putting her affairs in order" and then came to talk to her mother and Chris. Ryan picked her up and said he was taking her to the ER to be checked out but Erica told him no, she was fine. Ryan told her to call Jack and let him know she was ok. Erica called Jack and he was thrilled to hear from her. He told her to stay away from court today and she said she was going to Myrtle's anyway. Ryan offered to give her a ride but she said she wasn't finished with what she had come to do. She told Ryan she had to put her affairs in order while there was still time and that included coming to terms with Chris's death. She said she had betrayed Chris by sleeping with Jack and then lying about it. She said she lied about it because she couldn't own up to the truth and that love should bring out the best in each other. Erica said Ryan knows this and that he's the only person she doesn't blame for keeping Bianca's secret, because he did it out of love for Kendall. Ryan said Chris loved and understood Erica, but she said "Understood why I betrayed him? I don't even understand it." She said she needed to fix things before moving on and that she promised to help Kendall. Ryan told her he and Kendall were over. Erica was stunned and said "You stood by her and she betrayed you. You know how it feels too." She said sometimes she doesn't know Kendall at all. Ryan told her he had just signed over the entire Cambias estate to Bianca and her baby. Erica was speechless and Ryan said that Bianca didn't want it until she realized it meant she could give Enchantment back to her mother. Erica replied "How thoughtful" in a deadpan voice. She asked for a moment alone with Chris and Ryan stepped away. She told Chris she had loved him and she knows now what she did was the ultimate act of betrayal. She began to cry as she touched the gravestone, then walked away. Erica went to Myrtle's, who offered to make some tea. Erica wouldn't let Myrtle leave her alone and said she needed her strength, to help her do what she has to do. Myrtle wanted to talk Erica out of doing what she had planned but Erica said this was the only way.
Aidan cursed his car as a woman showed up offering to help. Aidan was rude and told her to "bugger off." She told him to get a karma adjustment. After exchanging barbs Aidan ordered her to leave again and she began to walk back to her own car. But he stopped her and asked if she could loan him her jack. He apologized for being nasty and she told him where the jack was. As he began to work on his car the two of them traded insults to the other's gender. Aidan hurt himself and she ran to her car for her medical bag. He asked if she was a doctor, she said no, an EMT. He thanked her for her help and said he now believes in karma. She went back to her car and Aidan got in his. He listened to the radio report on the trial and was upset to find out Kendall didn't take the plea bargain.
Maria walked into Edmund's hospital room and found him on the floor. She ran to his side but he yelled at her not to touch him. She stood back and watched him struggle as he tried to pull himself back onto the bed. He fell back to the floor and ordered her to leave him alone. Maria left the room in tears. She returned moments later with a male aid, who helped Edmund back in bed. Edmund demanded to be alone and Maria walked out, devastated. Brooke arrived with chocolate croissants and a cheery attitude. Edmund said he felt like a sack of useless garbage when asked how he was. Brooke threatened to smack him with a bed pan if he dissed himself again. She said she could take alot from him but not self pity. Edmund told her there was something she could do for him. He told her to get all the information she could on his condition and every procedure Dr. Marshall had ever performed. Meanwhile Maria ran into Dr. Marshall and ordered him off of Edmund's case. He refused, saying only Edmund could remove him. Maria headed back to Edmund's room and saw Brooke leaving. She asked Edmund what Brooke was doing and he said he didn't know, he told her to leave. Someone knocked on the door and Edmund barked that he didn't want to see anyone. A woman opened the door and said "Not even your wandering sister in law?." Maria ran to her and hugged her hard. It was the same woman who helped Aidan with his flat tire.
Jack arrived at the courthouse and comforted Kendall. The judge arrived and the court came to order. Livia put Kendall back on the stand. She asked Kendall why she had intentionally misled the court into thinking she was married and pregnant. Kendall passionately said that whoever killed Michael did them all a favor and she was trying to deflect attention from the real killer. She said by pretending to be his wife she could give back everything he had stolen from the people she loved. Livia asked her to describe what happened the night Michael died. Kendall said she had stolen the gun from Jackson's safe and only loaded 5 chambers when she heard a gun shot in Michael's condo. She ran across the courtyard and found him shot and barely alive. Shaking, Kendall said Michael looked at her holding the gun and said she was too late but that he would return from hell and get them all. Tearfully Kendall described cleaning up the blood after Michael died and put the body and gun in a duffle bag. She said she dragged it to the car and took it to the meat packaging plant. Livia asked "So you did not kill Michael Cambias?." Kendall looked straight at the jury and replied "No, I did not." Alan Singer, the prosecutor, stood up to cross examine Kendall. He asked what Michael weighed. Kendall guessed 150-160 and he wondered how Kendall could have lifted that much dead weight by herself. She didn't have much of an answer and he asked who her accomplice was. Kendall looked into the courtroom and he demanded again to know who helped her that night. Reggie walked in the room and told Kendall to "Tell the man what he wants to know. Tell him it was me."
Adam and David create reasonable doubt by testifying that they were scheming to kill Michael. Erica arrives and is poised to testify on Kendall's behalf. Aidan puts his personal life in order and starts by letting Mia know that they don't have a romantic future together.
Greenlee is haunted by a vision of Ryan, who helps he realize she has real feelings for him.
Meanwhile, Ryan continues to feel that spiritual connection to her. She is fighting her love for him so strongly that Ryan's psychic connection breaks.
Paul confirms to Babe that he will help her prove that JR is her baby's father. But, he adds, when that is said and done, he wants them to continue their sexual relationship and he also wants her to keep him happy with a steady cash flow. Babe tells Krystal about Paul's blackmail attempt and tells her daughter she'll take care of it.
Tad continues to question different men at the bar, but still comes up empty-handed. Krystal sees Tad showing a photo ID to the customers at the bar and immediately assumes he is after Babe. She gives Tad a verbal slapping, but Tad shows her that the photograph is of Erica, not Babe. Krystal inquires about why Tad is throwing Erica's picture around, but he will not tell her anything. Krystal realizes that he must be trying to find an alibi for Erica and when she asks "what's in it for you?", Tad simply says that "Erica is a friend." Krystal implies that Tad will get sexual services from Erica as a pay off, but Tad tells her that isn't true. He and Erica are friends, not friends with benefits. Krystal seems impressed with Tad's kindness and wishes that he would help Babe, instead of trying to drag her down. Krystal leaves and when Tad questions another man, he denies seeing Erica. However, Tad suspects that the man was lying, which almost lead to a fist fight, until Krystal intervened, worked her charms on the man, and led him away to dance.
Bianca is at the hospital, preparing to check out, when she has another vision. She remembers Michael answering the door and inviting a woman inside. When the woman goes inside, an agreement starts and Michael tells the woman, "You will do what I want you to do." Bianca's memories are interrupted when Maggie comes in. Bianca asks her if she has heard from Reggie, because he was supposed to call her when he found out what was going on with Erica and the trial. Disappointedly, Maggie tells Bianca she has not heard from Reggie and asks her why she is so worried. Bianca tells Maggie about her visions of a dark haired woman wearing a black coat with a high collar. Lena comes to visit and when Bianca leaves to get her papers signed, Maggie tells Lena about Bianca's visions. She even accuses Lena of being the murderer to spend more time with Bianca. Lena reminds Maggie that she did try to poison Michael, but she did not kill him. When Bianca walks back in her room, she senses the tension between Maggie and Lena, but Maggie quickly suggests they leave the hospital and go back to their apartment. However, Bianca refuses to go back home and threatens to call a cab if Lena and Maggie did not take her to the courthouse.
When Erica takes the stand, Jackson immediately asks for a recess. When the judge tells him that he has no power to call a recess, Jackson deems himself as Erica's attorney. Erica tells the judge that she does not want a recess and wants to take the stand. Jackson pleads with Erica to rethink her decision, but Livia starts to question Erica on the stand. Ms. Frye asks Erica what to clarify what facts she left out in her first testimony and Singer immediately jumps up to announce that Erica is just creating a ploy to make Kendall look innocent. The judge denies Singers request to not question Erica and Ms. Frye continues. Erica admits that she did go to Michael's house with David to give him the castrating drug and that David did knock Michael unconscious. When he was unconscious, she grabbed his gun and was ready to shoot him, but David stepped in front of her. She ran out of the condo with Michael's gun and seemed to lose time after that. She tells the jury that she wasn't sure what happened during those hours she blacked out, until she remembered. She remembers returning to Michael's condo later that night and standing outside, near Kendall's house. She had the gun in her hand, and when Michael opened the door, she froze. When he started moving toward her, she shot him. "Kendall did not murder Michael Cambias. I did," she said, stunning not only the jury and crowd, but also Ms. Frye.
Singer tells the judge that Erica's confession is a way to get a mistrial and a stunt that Ms. Frye knew about. Livia told Singer and the judge that she had no idea Erica was going to confess to murder. The judge decides to take a short recess and consider whether or not Kendall's trial should continue. During the recess, Jackson whisks Erica away in his office and demands an explanation. Erica continues to say she is telling the truth, but Jackson does not believe her. He tells her that he saw her Last Will and Testament, so he figured she was up to something, but never something as drastic as confessing to murder. He even points out that Erica may be trying to forget about Bianca's pregnancy by making up a false story. Erica tells Jackson about hiring Tad to find out what she did during the black out and about the strange woman who described a woman similar to her leaving Michael's condo. Jackson tries to tell Erica that there are a million woman who are her size, her height, have dark hair, and own a black jacket, which could make anyone a suspect! Adam interrupts and tells Erica that she didn't kill Michael because the person she shot was him, not Michael!
Aidan and Kendall are huddled outside the courtroom. Kendall is worried about Erica's confession and says, "Erica was never supposed to confess." Aidan tells Kendall not to worry and make sure Erica does not say anything else under testimony. Kendall spots Ryan and takes the time to go over, say some nasty words, and inquire where Greenlee was. Ryan gets annoyed at her insecurities and tells her that whether she believes it or not, he cares about her, Erica, and Bianca.
Jackson doesn't buy Adam's story and Palmer comes in to verify it, followed by Kendall as well. With everyone in the room, Adam tells them that he and Palmer went to Michael's condo that night with a gun. When they arrived, the door was unlocked and he was not home. Adam decides to leave and is shot from behind. He turns around and sees Erica, in a trance-like state, saying "Why won't you die?" She didn't know it was Adam. Erica got frightened, dropped the gun, and ran. Adam said he took and gun and hid it to protect Erica. Palmer confirmed Adam's story and said that they made up their other story to protect themselves and Erica. Palmer, Adam, and Jackson leave when Bianca comes in the room. Outside the courtroom, Reggie asks Jackson how they are going to help Erica and Reggie repeatedly says that she is not the killer. Jackson figures out that Reggie had something to do with Michael's murder and tells him to fess up!
Erica tells Bianca that she killed Michael, but Bianca does not believe her. Suddenly, Kendall says that she the killer and she was really scamming everyone so she wouldn't get convicted. Kendall adds that Erica's story doesn't make sense. If she shot Michael from the door, how could his blood have splattered on the wall? Bianca and Erica don't buy Kendall's story either. Erica tries to leave but Kendall stops her and begs her not to say any more because she is so close to a mistrial. Suddenly, Erica and Kendall begin to argue and Bianca starts having a flashback. She remembers the woman slipping a gun in her purse, heading to Michael's, and rapping on his door. He answers, invites the woman in, they get in a major argument with Michael telling the woman he can do whatever he wants to her. A shot is fired, the woman rushes out, shuts his door, and Bianca finally sees the face of the person who shot and killed Michael Cambias. The face was her own. Bianca gasps and looks at her sister and mother with tears in her eyes. She tells them that she shot Michael -- she is the murderer.
