Tess was annoyed to hear about Nash's latest run-in with Restin. At the precinct house, Evangeline clashed with Hugh on the subject of Todd. Hearing Bo at the door, Todd hissed a warning at Paige before slipping out the back way. Natalie advised Nash to leave town before her sister's life was ruined for good.
Carlotta suggested to Cristian that his recent obsession with boxing was a handy way of avoiding thinking about Natalie. Nash icily reminded Natalie that he only had Tess's best interests at heart and would never hurt her or Jessica. Later, Tess arrived and snarled at Nash for keeping secrets from her about Claudia and her father. Todd sneaked into Llanfair and begged his startled sister to hide him.
Cristian explained to Carlotta why he was determined not to give up on the idea of reconciling with his ex-wife. Viki implored Todd to turn himself in before some trigger-happy cop shot him in the back. Paige told a puzzled Bo that her son could never know she was his mother.
Though Nigel encouraged him to stay, Nash glumly decided it was time to move on. Clint offered a teary Tess a sympathetic shoulder. Cristian asked Natalie if there was any chance she would forgive him. After fleeing from Llanfair, Todd appealed to Evangeline for help.
Though Viki asked him to stay, Nash explained why he had decided to leave town. Meanwhile, a tearful Tess complained to Clint about Nash. Bo showed John the piece of fabric he'd found on his terrace. Kelly went to the Buchanan mansion to check on Duke, and Nigel informed her that the young man was still sleeping off his hangover. John admitted to Bo he was no longer sure that Manning was guilty.
Across town, Todd entreated a flustered Evangeline for help proving he had been framed. Kelly left Duke a note imploring him not to disclose to his father the nature of their last conversation. Viki reminded Nash why Dr. Jamison believed he was integral to her daughter's recovery.
Natalie confided to Cristian how much it would hurt her to lose him again if anything happened to him in the boxing ring. Evangeline urged her client to turn himself over to the authorities so they could start work on an appeal. Tess told a surprised Natalie how they'd actually met before Cristian had gone to prison.
Bo received proof that Todd had slipped back into Llanview. Evangeline gingerly felt John out on the subject of Todd's recapture then decided not to clue him in after all. Later, Evangeline agreed to let her fugitive client spend the night.
While lying in bed in New York, Adriana dreamed of sharing the bed with Rex. He awoke her by knocking on the door because it was time to leave for her modeling appointment. He divulged the reason for their having separate rooms: so she could see that he respected her and didn't want to push her into something she didn't want. When he spotted her sexy nightie and heard her lie for having it along, they shared a kiss. They decided to share a room, after all, and to be late for the appointment. Adriana quickly downed her birth control pill.
Duke was pretty hungover and couldn't remember what had transpired during his conversation with Kelly the previous night. She told a white lie and claimed that he'd told her she needed to lose weight. He was highly doubtful but apologized anyway. After Kelly left, the maid handed over the forgotten note that Kelly had given to Nigel. After reading it, Duke recalled what he'd really said.
At the Palace, Clint shared a meal with Viki and mentioned the letter he had for Tess from Nash. Unfortunately, Dorian, who was nearby with Blair, was talking about her electricity with Clint and insisted on stopping by after she thought she saw him and Viki holding hands.
On the premise that she wanted to know how Asa was doing, Dorian sat at the table. She and Viki nearly erupted into a full-blown catfight over Clint, among other things, with Viki finally taking leave before she got sick. Spencer was also there, and while honoring her decision not to see him until Todd was caught, Blair did say hello. Their attempt at small talk failed miserably.
Spencer called Denton and suggested he locate Todd. Viki bumped into him as he arrived, and she headed out. Spencer ordered Todd's former employee to follow someone.
Michael caught John, with police records on Todd's case, working in their apartment lobby. He chastised him, to no avail, for being obsessive and also learned that John wanted to work on their father's case, which was considered a cold case. John admitted that he needed to solve the case so he could finally have some peace. Marcie showed up to try to make wedding plans with Michael, but they seemed to initially disagree on every detail. Michael was sad that his father wouldn't be there.
Natalie arrived at the gym to take boxing lessons from Cristian, though she assured him it wouldn't change her feelings about it. He wanted to know about their kiss, but she was quick to admit that he wasn't the only one she was kissing, even though the kiss with John had been kind of an accident. She learned that boxing was not very easy.
John arrived to de-stress and saw the boxing lesson in progress. Natalie saw him after and confided that she always felt bad for the guy she was not with. He didn't want to hear her excuses for taking the lessons; he didn't really care. She learned that he believed Todd was innocent and offered to help him. He declined her offer.
Evangeline woke Todd, who had spent the night on the sofa. Layla returned home, and Todd made a dash for another room while Evangeline had difficulty trying to convince her sister that no man had spent the night there. When Layla headed for the shower, yet another visitor appeared. Cristian was there and wanted Evangeline to look at the contract he had received from the gym.
Evangeline instructed Todd to seek out the men's clothing she had worn on Halloween, and she would get rid of the uniform. When she learned that Cristian was on his way to help Lindsay in a warehouse in an unsavory and deserted location, she was sure to repeat the directions so Todd could head there later.
Layla was sure that Cristian was the overnight guest, though Evangeline continued to deny that anyone had been there, even after they heard a noise from Todd's hiding spot. Making an excuse for the noise, Evangeline was finally able to get Layla off to work so she and Todd could leave. While waiting for Evangeline to get her car, Todd spotted Blair.
While disposing of Todd's clothes, Evangeline ran into Bo. Scared of being found out, she made up a story, but Bo didn't believe her. She then told the police commissioner that she had found some of John's clothes that he had left there while they had still been dating and had become upset. Bo seemed to accept that.
David confronted Paige about what she had on Spencer. She was still not forthcoming with information and was more concerned about what Spencer had against Bo. The two didn't reach any startling revelations. Bo called and asked Paige to meet him at the police station.
Hoping Duke didn't open the note she had left him, Kelly went back into the Buchanan house. Unfortunately, Duke had received the note and remembered what he'd said the previous night. The two were embarrassed and repeatedly stated they had always thought of each other as just friends and nothing more, but they looked guilty when Kevin and Layla walked into the room unexpectedly. Kevin wondered aloud why he always felt like he was walking in on something when his fiancée and son were having a conversation.
Kelly grew angry as her fiancé insinuated that there was something going on between her and Duke. She told Kevin that if Duke was going through a rough time because of Adriana, he should be able to turn to her without fear of his father growing suspicious. Kevin told Kelly that Duke was his son and should go to Kevin with his problems. Kelly asked Kevin how they were going to raise a child of their own if they couldn't even agree about Duke. Realizing the weight of her question, she apologized, but Kevin was stung and still worried about her and Duke.
Duke left the room with Layla, who pressured him about his feelings for Kelly. Eventually, Duke confessed that while he'd told Kelly he'd only said he desired her because he had been drunk, he actually did have feelings for her.
At the police station, David listened as Bo and Paige discussed Todd. Bo asked Paige why she hadn't told him Todd had gone to their apartment and about the material from the uniform Todd had stolen. Paige constantly evaded his questions, only saying that everything she did was for him. Bo told her that while he didn't want to break up, he was worried they couldn't go on the way they were for very much longer.
In the hope of running into Spencer, David waited at the Palace. Seconds later, Spencer walked in. Convinced he held some of the cards, David tried to pump more information out of his older brother. He was unsuccessful, but noted that, for once, Spencer didn't threaten him during their exchange.
While waiting for Evangeline, Todd heard Blair and Spencer talking, and Jack and Starr soon joined them. He became enraged when he heard Jack ask Spencer to take him to a father/son function. He tried to go after his family, but Evangeline stopped him. She told him if he didn't play by her rules, she wouldn't help him anymore. Finally, Todd agreed, but as the two prepared to get on their way to a safe, secluded area where Todd could hide out, Bo wondered aloud if Evangeline would help Todd stay hidden.
As Adriana prepared for her second modeling shoot, Giovanni was annoyed that Rex was lurking around the set. He tried to tell Adriana that she needed to devote her entire life to a modeling career, not to a boyfriend, and Adriana started to go off on him. However, Rex pulled her aside and convinced her that the photographer was right.
Adriana agreed to go ahead with the shoot, which was quite elaborate and featured her in many different outfits. The whole time Giovanni shot her, though, she was looking at Rex. When the shoot was completed, Rex asked Adriana if she was up for a special night. She asked him if he would still like her when she peeled off all the makeup, and the two of them shared a passionate kiss. The implication was that they would spend the night together.
Tess read Nash's goodbye letter and tried to hold herself together. When Viki offered her comfort, Tess became steely and cold. She told Viki that she was stronger than ever and that Jessica was never getting back out. She also told Viki that she didn't need her sympathy like Jessica would and asked to be left alone. After Viki left her in the library, Tess broke into tears and damned Nash for his actions. She poured herself a glass of alcohol.
Meanwhile, back in Napa, Nash admired the vineyard while pining over Tess. He had only left her in Llanview in order to keep her safe from Mr. Restin, who suddenly showed up at the vineyard to threaten Nash once again. Nash reminded Mr. Restin that he was not violating the restraining order, as Claudia was on the East Coast. Mr. Restin expressed his disgust with Nash and said that he wanted him to pay "in kind" for what he had done to Restin's daughter.
Nash realized that Restin was making another threat toward Tess, so he went into performance mode and pretended that Tess meant nothing to him; he was only after her for her money. It was unclear whether Restin fell for the act, but he did make a threatening reference toward the vineyard, warning Nash to look out for brush fires during the dry season.
Clint stopped by the station to share his concerns about Asa with Bo. Natalie was getting off her shift, so she and Clint rode back to Llanfair, where Natalie walked in on Tess pouring herself a glass of alcohol. Natalie knocked the drink out of Tess's hand and blasted her for trying to consume alcohol while she was pregnant.
Tess let Natalie know that Jessica was not emerging again, but Natalie reminded her that the whole family was rooting for Jessica, and she would be back. Natalie stormed out on her "sister," and Tess persuaded the security guard to let her run to her car for her vitamins.
Clint convinced Viki that they needed to go back to the bar and get answers about what had happened to their daughter. As they took off, Clint asked Viki whether Niki Smith would take control again, but Viki vowed that she was strong enough to prevent that.
John ran into Layla at Roxy's hotel. She told him she was looking to get a room, since Evangeline was seeing John again and wanted her privacy. John corrected Layla, and she immediately regretted opening her big mouth. She told him that Evangeline had to be seeing someone else, and John appeared slightly upset. However, he was mostly intrigued, and the intrigue grew when a homeless man showed up begging for change.
The homeless man was wearing the Marshall's outfit Todd Manning had last been spotted in. John headed to the station, where Bo was having a conversation with Starr. Starr wanted information about her father, and Bo promised to try to keep Todd safe from harm when the police caught up with him. He asked Starr to do the right thing and inform him if she heard from her dad. Starr said she would consider it.
John and Bo shared information and put the pieces together. They realized Evangeline was hiding Todd.
Meanwhile, Evangeline had squirreled Todd away in an abandoned building and warned him not to make contact with Starr or Blair. She took off, and Todd tried to get some sleep. Suddenly, a woman entered the building, dressed in black.
Evangeline headed down to the station, where she bumped into John. She asked him if he had any information about Todd's whereabouts, and John said he should be asking her that question, since she knew just where Manning was. Evangeline realized she had been caught.
