After what seemed like forever, there was finally a little romance last week. Sandy and Tammy are so cute together, and it was a delight to see Jonathan get a dose of his own medicine. That young man needs a serious time out!

The Phillip Spaulding murder trial is about to begin. Harley and Gus are fighting for her life, but is she innocent? What do Beth, Alan, and Lizzie really know? And once the dust settles, what will the cost be for all of those involved?

Harley is taking a huge chance with her life as she heads to trial for Phillip's murder. If she takes the plea bargain that Jeffrey offered her last week, she will probably get a lesser sentence, but she won't find out if she really killed him.

Lizzie's family loyalty is really as twisted as her father's. Pouring hot coffee all over herself is just the latest in a long string of cries for help. Maybe she can get together with evil, self-centered Jonathan.

Dinah certainly has sparked up Springfield with her trouble-making ways. Her hatred of all things Cassie certainly gives her lots of ammo these days.

Poor Harley is STILL on trial; it seems that Olivia has shown her true colors (again) and will sell Harley down the river in an effort to get Alan off of her case with Emma. Alan would sell out his own flesh and blood, so why would she trust him?

Edmund jumped from the frying pan into the fire last week. What is he thinking, letting Cassie's biggest nemesis carry their child? How can he ever believe that Dinah would actually give up the child when it is born?

Dinah's history is littered with her desire to have a child. Dinah poked holes in a condom to trap Jeffrey into paternity, but her plan failed. Now she has allowed herself to carry a child for her mortal enemy.

Last week, there was an interesting twist to Reva's menopause storyline. She and sister Cassie were both contemplating another shot at motherhood, but neither one imagined what would happen instead.

Last week, we saw an old character with a new face -- A.C. Mallet, Harley's ex-husband and the warden of her prison. Harley's marriage to Mallet certainly has had a strong impact on her life since their divorce.

Lizzie's tortured relationship with the Cooper clan has left them nearly jobless and homeless, yet she sees herself falling for Coop. Can this possibly lead to anything other than heartbreak? Just ask Harley how a Spaulding/Cooper relationship works...it doesn't.

For some reason, even though Edmund locked her in a tower and tried to kill her, Cassie still fell in love with him. Now the ink is barely dry on their marriage license, and he's up to his old tricks again.

Reva is having a pretty bad month, and her whole year has been pretty rough. Marah and Shayne left town, Jonathan showed up (twice), and now she's tackling menopause, has lost her job, and is looking to kick up her heels.

Dinah has made herself part of Cassie's family, at least for the next few months. But this surrogate is carrying more than Cassie and Edmund's child; she carries the secret that Edmund is playing both sides, where Will is concerned.

How will Gus react when he learns that Alan let Harley take the fall for Phillip's shooting? Alan will have lost not one, but two sons (Phillip and Gus), and will certainly be a dangerous man.

Alan has gone around the bend and is scaring off the only family members he hasn't killed (yet). Harley and Gus are on the run...in an ice cream truck, of all things. There is a bounty on Harley's head, and Frank wants to be her white knight.

Ross has four children to spend the day with, but we know that he'll be thinking a lot about darling daughter Dinah. Even though he has only known her since she was a teenager, she's definitely been giving him a lot of gray hairs.

Tired of being bullied by her grandfather, Lizzie used words to hurt Alan last week, standing up for herself in the process. It was interesting to see that Lizzie, a character we have all watched grow up, could use Phillip's paternity against Alan.

Last week, Jonathan decided that he was better off without a parent who loves him (but not the abusive monster who controls his life), lopping his hair off in the process. The angst and emotion that poured out of him during those scenes was fabulous!

We have so many characters who don't have any ties to anyone else in Springfield, and they're just taking up air time and budget dollars. Why not just put everyone on recurring to save money, but keep the cast intact?

Alan-Michael Spaulding is returning to a Springfield that he will barely recognize. His father reportedly killed his brother, and has also married the love of that same brother's life. His niece is dating the brother of two of his ex-wives.

After a long, hot summer of manipulating those around him, Edmund's game is nearly up. With his departure, will Alan be the only bad boy left in Springfield? At least until Jonathan does something new and evil, that is.

Edmund's misdeeds have gone relatively unpunished for years, but now he's finally going to get payback for hurting so many people. Unfortunately, his departure leaves us with only an incarcerated Alan as a villain.

Just when you think that Edmund can't get any crazier, he sets fire to the farmhouse, thinking that he can destroy all of the evidence of his evil plans. What he doesn't know (or does he even care at this point?) is that Dinah is still inside.

The often confused Olivia, who is so unlucky in love, makes fans want to scream. How many times have we seen her go headlong into some crazy plot to gain power, only to lose everything? Her plan to switch Billy's drink last week was so like her.

Lizzie and Coop have been absent so much lately, it was a surprise to see them last week. Will Coop bail her out of her latest jam? If Beth focused a little more on Lizzie, and less on Alan and his revenge on Harley, perhaps she wouldn't have ended up in this jam.

After being back in Springfield for a year, it was nice to see Harley and Dinah get together and talk about the past last week. Of course, that was just due to the fact that Alan-Michael is returning to Springfield.

Last week, we learned that Jonathan and Tammy are in love with each other. The fans weren't really shocked, but Reva sure was! A slightly more surprising revelation was that Jeffrey is really Richard.

What if Jonathan and Tammy are only cousins, and not related (even by adoption) to Richard? Suppose that Jonathan is Jeffrey's son and not Richard's? Of course, Cassie and Reva are still half-sisters, but it might be less gross.

Reva certainly hit the nail on the head with her reaction to Josh and Olivia last week. It wasn't a good idea for Josh to bring his ex-wife to a party where his current wife, and his brother Billy, would be in attendance.
